You lose some of the eldrazi abilities if they arent actually cast, quicksilver would be bad for that

Wabbbit says... #3

Still lets you get them out quick, and that can be devastating.

Staff of DominationMTG Card: Staff of Domination helps with your 'lots of extra mana and no cards in hand' dilemma. Its also really good for other things too.

Sorry I haven't been on lately, been pretty busy.

First things first, I need to make this deck more efficient. Sure, the mana ramp is ridiculous, but it's still difficult to have get enough land out there to cast my biggest creatures. What I will do is dump out everything that is 12 and up and put in more copies as well as other Eldrazi.

Also, I think I'll drop Darksteel PlateMTG Card: Darksteel Plate for Staff of DominationMTG Card: Staff of Domination. Darksteel plate seems to just sit on my battlefield unused.

Ok, I made some big changes tell me what you think.

I think I liked it a bit better the old way. If you threw in more Skittering InvasionMTG Card: Skittering Invasions your mana ramp would be enough to drop Emrakul, the Aeons TornMTG Card: Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and the other scary Eldrazi you had in before. (Not to mention the Blightsteel ColossusMTG Card: Blightsteel Colossus and Darksteel ColossusMTG Card: Darksteel Colossus you took out).

This deck is pretty scary :D

So why is there is no Emrakul in the deck? I mean the deck obviously works well. I'm just thinking that an emrakul hard cast one turn gives you an extra turn that you can then equip eldrazi conscription on it and swing for game.

I realize the Eldrazi are aeons-old beings of world-destroying might, but how are you supposed to stop cards like Emrakul? Protection from all colors means you can't hit him with Doom BladeMTG Card: Doom Blade or a sequence of Tragic SlipMTG Card: Tragic Slip and DismemberMTG Card: Dismember. Can you only poison him to death with a colorless Infect creature? How do you live long enough to accomplish that? How was conquering such a beast even possible before SOM was released? I am very intrigued.

March 22, 2012 3:34 p.m.

Emrakul can be "targeted" by Oblivion RingMTG Card: Oblivion Ring, Journey to NowhereMTG Card: Journey to Nowhere, Geth's VerdictMTG Card: Geth's Verdict when the enchantments ETB and resolve, they're no longer spells. However, he is a beast lol.

I have a Legacy 8-post Touchdown! Da LOL's

CrunchBogus says... #14

Aha, yes! I didn't think about how O Ring doesn't actually target a permanent by itself. It seems fitting that the Eldrazi are most realistically dealt with by banishment, rather than destruction.

Ok, I'll get on add some more changes after I get off work.

What do you guys think of PentavusMTG Card: Pentavus? I figured he would be a great blocker, Since I can block then sacrifice without losing anything. Or do you guys think he's dumb and should be subbed out for another steel hellkite or colossus.

March 22, 2012 5:49 p.m.

Theophilus says... #18

You only have one PentavusMTG Card: Pentavus, so I don't think he's necessary. I still strongly advocate Skittering InvasionMTG Card: Skittering Invasion for blockers/mana ramp, as the deck shouldn't have much problem casting it.

I did a deck like this: Not of your world. Check it out. Take any ideas you like. You've already figured out that Urzatron is the way to go. I like your take. Definitely sub out Pentavus for something more aggressive- this deck should be doing all the attacking, not the blocking. Since you have such a beastly mana base via Urzatron, you could put in more artillery. JuggernautMTG Card: Juggernaut, Phyrexian Juggernaut MTG Card: Phyrexian Juggernaut , Ulamog's CrusherMTG Card: Ulamog's Crusher, Artisan of KozilekMTG Card: Artisan of Kozilek, Pathrazer of UlamogMTG Card: Pathrazer of Ulamog, It That BetraysMTG Card: It That Betrays, and Nullstone GargoyleMTG Card: Nullstone Gargoyle are all possibilities, and they're well within your mana curve. I would take out Perilous Myr entirely, and reduce the numbers of some of the other smaller creatures- you'll see from mine that all I do is drop bombs. It's ridiculously easy to do so with a colorless Urzatron base. Put in more Kozilek, Butcher of TruthMTG Card: Kozilek, Butcher of Truth the draw from casting him is just insane, not to mention most opponents can't deal with 12/12 Annihilator 4 without suffering SERIOUS losses. Happy hunting- hope this helps!

Quicksilver AmuletMTG Card: Quicksilver AmuletThats all you need..

March 23, 2012 2:37 a.m.

Yoshiman says... #22

hmm, I really don't like the fact that Quicksilver AmuletMTG Card: Quicksilver Amulet takes away the cast ability of my Eldrazi, but after play testing I noticed that it does help smooth a rough spot on this deck. That rough spot comes up when I can't seem to get the right lands.

I playtested this deck about 30 times in a row and it ran pretty smooth. Also, if any of you have a competitive modern deck, would you playtest it against this and let me know how it does.

p.s. One more vote and I'll have both the first and second place position on the top decks list. I find this hilarious since my decks are mediocre at best.

this may very well be one of the most interesting and fun, yet amazing decks I've played in a very long time. I would just like to congratulate you on creating something this cool. keep up the great work.

I'm surprised no one has suggested Karn LiberatedMTG Card: Karn Liberated. My friend has an "Urza-tron" deck and droping karn turn three is almost an instant win.

I would also put Crucible of WorldsMTG Card: Crucible of Worlds in there to protect your lands.

I would consider dropping the Blightsteel ColossusMTG Card: Blightsteel Colossus it doesn't really fit...it's the only infect...granted it will win in two swings but so will the rest of your deck? I'd run another low drop. If not another low drop run another Darksteel ColossusMTG Card: Darksteel Colossus. Also since you're running 4x Expedition MapMTG Card: Expedition Map you can drop 1x Eye of UginMTG Card: Eye of Ugin for something else...maybe a Ghost QuarterMTG Card: Ghost Quarter? Definitely going to watch this deck I like it :) +1
