I don't really use Polukranos, World Eater that much anyway. I chose him as the commander for his colors. I could always switch out him for Thrun, the Last Troll or any other legendary green creature.
Chord of Calling is in the buy list for this deck, I am testing the current version now. Changes to be made eventually, but so far I like it.

Why on earth did I say mono red when I clearly meant mono green.

Depends on what you want to do.

Nylea would be a suitable commander. Would save me the trouble of searching for her.

I really like the deck, one question though. Can you put the guild gates and lands like kuzandu refuge in a mono green edh deck?

No you can't. Because lands have the ability "Tap: add (colour) to your mana pool". If the colour they add isn't in your commanders identity then you can't use them. They used to actually print land the ability written on them a long time ago.

@ChiefBell - In high school a fellow student kept arguing that those kinds of lands let you add two instead of one. We summerly shut him down multiple times.
@Arcanum I have both of those cards, but not sure what to remove to replace. the Collar I like a lot

Been meaning to ask you this. Is the deck title a reference to anything? It sounds like some metal lyrics or something lol.

@canterlotguardian It was something funny I read on cracked.com. the quote was; "'Tis better to be safe than pinned beneath the crushing jaws of a howling slaybeast." and I thought it made a good name for a deck lol

Well I like it nonetheless. Also with all the lands you have, Dictate of Karametra can make for a giant Monstrosity.

@canterlotguardian I dunno about that card, I feel like I have enough mana acceleration. but it is a decent card. I feel like I would do some good in updating the denizens of the forest though.
This deck can get a bit.... mean sometimes

Oracle of Mul Daya is one of those cards that is good, but I've tuned this beast to not necessarily need to be in deck. Same goes for Elvish Piper ; good card, but dies too quickly

What about Mwonvuli Beast Tracker to search for creatures?

@Xwright
I've been looking to replace Krosan Cloudscraper
for a while now with some other big creature. It's good, a 13/13 for 10 mana, but it's upkeep I keep forgetting about. I might switch him out for Giant Adephage
or Arbor Colossus
, or even Silvos, Rogue Elemental
. The options are quite immense really.

I don't think he's a good commander. He doesn't do enough damage for commander damage - would take 5 turns. His board clear takes WAY too much mana and isn't even a board clear. He doesn't impact the board when he's played. He has no evasion - no flying or hexproof or regenerate. There are far better commanders in mono red.
