I've received a heck of a lot of flack for making decks that are way too competitive. I've made this budget politics deck to combat that stereotype.

What's the point of the deck: This deck is built on curses. These curses indirectly allow me to help myself, and allow opponents to figure out who to hurt. For example, some curses encourage attacking other players. Curses will enchant other players, and passively, they trigger to harm them. Sounds pretty bad, right?

Here's why it's not evil: in a multiplayer game, the player with this deck can spread the curses around. Eventually, the table is laughing about who's the most cursed player, and who's got the worst curse. And because this deck doesn't really do that much, it's all good.

Well, how does the commander play into this?: It sorta doesn't. I just wanted a fun 5-color commander, thus, I made mine into a win-con. Progenitus is basically unstoppable, so when you get him onto the battlefield, you just swing with him every turn until you win. However, because he costs symbol:WWUUBBRRGG, it'll take a while before you play him. Thus, you still get a fun commander game that everybody can win. Once you hit the endgame, it's likely that other players will gang up a bit on you, but by that point, you've had fun, and then everybody else is having a good time.

What about the other cards?: I picked pet cards that I really enjoy to go into this deck. Avenger of Zendikar is my favorite card, so I stuck that in there. Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite is a really fun splashy play if the board is getting too scary, and Omniscience is a blast. Otherwise, I picked just a little bit of synergy. I figure it'll be a while until Progenitus is onto the field, so we don't want creature on creature attacking us, so I had to put a couple of board wipes into the deck.

Have fun, I hope this deck isn't as competitive as this one! Cascade Mountain

I was thinking about potentially buying this deck, and the first thing I thought about was the mana base. The main problem with it was the sheer number of tap lands, and how few basic lands there were (8). I replaced all the tap lands I don't own with basic lands, and rethought the division of the deck. This makes the deck much more functional, and I now own the entire mana base for this deck.
