Since our green splashes at this point are two spells and beetleform mage (bye bye advent, it was nice while it lasted) even if we don't get fixing I'd still run all three. Beetleform mage is not really that green heavy if it's really the only repeatable green mana sink. Sure we might need to forgo attacking with it for a turn while crushing our enemy with our 7/4 skyclops and then dealing 7 or more to dome the next turn but at that point we don't really need to worry about the mage anymore.

So, since the other players want to keep feeding us good cards we should not be inconsiderate and pass them on.

Wow. I'm still trying to figure out where the other team of Izzet drafters are sitting at the table. Maybe the previous pack started with the other Izzet team? But then why is there a Fluxcharger in this pack? We know someone took the Steam Vents and Fluxcharger in the last round, so if it is the team five seats down from us then why didn't they take it this time? Maybe there was a better card? I'm so confused! I can't really read any signals by the people we're drafting next to except that white and black are cut off from both directions. Sometimes we see decent red or green. The good blue cards just keep falling into our lap.

+1 Fluxcharger

There's a lot of space between seeing a Fluxcharger 3rd-4th pick and not seeing a Fluxcharger table. There are a million reasons why the seven people between you and the second coming of the Flux will snag it up. Same goes for the good fixing. Anyone playing blue and red in any combination (or just playing one of them and planning on maybe splashing) would have wanted the vents.

I think it's pretty clear at this point that we are the only team drafting Izzet and propably the only ones in heavy blue. I just hope we're not too badly cut from red in the next pack. We're missing a ton of effective instants and sorceries. A couple of punish the enemies and weapon surges and we're set (also million more fluxchargers and cyclops).

Yeah Fluxcharger . This deck is going to play differently than anything I've ever tried. A whole bunch of enormous butts on the ground and in the sky making their feeble onslaught a joke, only to transform into an army of terrifying skyclopi assault troops battering their faces down as our metamorph-fluxcharging cavalry flank their defenses and execute their leaders. We should get a movie contract.

Skyclops: The Battle for Ravnica. I'll get started on a screenplay!

This is just delightful. 1 Maze Glider , 2 Fluxcharger , and 4 Nivix Cyclops . And we're not even halfway through Pack 2.

All we need are to start seeing those Weapon Surge s now!

Haha, Darkness. I would love to see it! But, +1 Fluxcharger .

July 11, 2013 3:07 p.m.

With this pick we still only have 10 creatures in-color. I'm sure we'll get more, but we can't get too hung up on just instants and sorceries yet. Let's see what these last 2 blind picks for this pack have in store for us.

Kravian says... #15

But look at those ten creatures. They are so beautiful. Look at them. Look.

Maze Glider = what a nice guy, stops pretty much any flier and helps our cyclopi shine.

Fluxcharger = Maze Glider 's bodyguards, courteous and minimally forceful bouncers, but YOU WON'T LIKE THEM WHEN THEY ARE ANGRY.

Nivix Cyclops = mild mannered father figure by day, horrifying beafcake colossus by night.

Wind Drake = the workhorse of our flying army. Gentle spirited, willing, and able beasts of burden.

Maze Rusher = the crazy general. Ignored most of the time, but unleashed in the least expected circumstances, sneaking in for massive damage when the opponent believes they have calculated every possibility.

Goblin Test Pilot (yeah I know we won't use him) = the insane camp chef who's plan to poison the enemy could goes horribly awry when his ability to discern between the red mushroom with blue spots and the blue mushroom with red spots falters.

I am loving every part of this draft, this deck, and this team. I feel like after we trounce our opposition we should meet up for a celebratory pint.

After this, we should all do this again sometime.I wonder if Caley would do like a tournament thing where we do this repetitively until one of team are the champions.

I was thinking of something similar where the winning team of this DDD takes place in the next one against 7 new tapped out teams. Thoughts, KrazyCaley?

If it were fantasy football we'd have a trophy that got passed around to the current champs. Maybe something like an emblem for our walls? I dunno how you could do it but it'd be cool. Something to compete for.

July 11, 2013 4:34 p.m.

I doubt anyone else is near me, but if we win I'll down a pint in celebration regardless.

@Darkness1835 - I've been thinking along similar lines. Only the winning team survives; others are scattered to the four winds. It's a good idea.

As I am located in the center of the country it would only be logical that you all come here to Lawrence, KS (about 45 minutes from Kansas City Intl Airport.) And we have many fine local breweries!

Sounds excellent. But fair warning all: I'm notorious for getting 2nd at my local card shop.

July 11, 2013 5:02 p.m.

No way in hell am I going into Kansas again. It's sooooooooo boring.

Drove through at night one time and the only thing you could see in any direction was a single house light. One. House. In all of Kansas.
