Split cards, when fuzed, only count as one spell. We will get double potency out of the card itself, but not out of our Cyclops triggers.

Oh, and on a related note: actiontech, yes, Clear a Path has pretty funny flavor text.

Probably mostly because when you look at the art, it's evident that the victims of Clear a Path were Basilica Guards .

Another pack, brought to you by that krazy bastard in higher management.

Not sure if we should take another Uncovered Clues or if we should go with the Wear / Tear . Clues would give our deck more consistency. Wear gives us some utility in the sideboard that we currently do not have.

I worry with Uncovered Clues that we'd bury our wincon at the bottom of the library and we don't have any shuffle effects. And we already have 2 of them, so my vote:

+1 Wear / Tear

I don't worry about burying stuff at the bottom of the library because it also gets us deeper into the deck than we would otherwise go, so perhaps causing our win con to rise. But 3x Uncovered Clues seems excessive.

The problem I have with Wear / Tear is that it is stuck in your hand if there's no cluestone or other artifact in play - you can't 'just cast it'.

Anyone like Mending Touch ? Seems to have pretty good utility to me, and you can cast it on a creature whether you need it or not. Only problem is it's in our splash color.

I'm about to head out on a road trip, but should get a chance to check in later today. However I'm not too bothered about where we fall on this one.

+1 Mending Touch

BTW, when does the pack with the cyclops we passed on in favor of the maze glider come around?

Next pack.

Theres an important point I feel needs to be brought up here. There are no artifacts in this set except for cluestones. Wear / Tear is actually quite bad because of that.

Mending touch is a decent card, but I dont like that it's in our splash color. If we grab it I would prefer it to be considered a hate draft.

Mending Touch is the only good card for us in this pack.+1 Mending Touch

Neither is likely to make the maindeck, so I suppose I don't care much which way we go here. I know we don't need a 3rd copy of Uncovered Clues so either of the other options is fine by me.

We most likely wont use Mending Touch , but it's still the best pick because it also hates the rest of the groups running green.

Looks like Mending Touch it is.

I wouldn't be afraid of another set of Clues. Touch is a fine alternate, it just means we'll need to go a bit heavier green if we actually play it.

Clues is actually playable, and the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of having it. We wont be using Mending Touch ; at this point its purely hate. But Uncovered Clues is so good in our deck. It sets off our cyclops, and lets us handpick our next activation for maximum potency. Yeah it might put a "bomb" on the bottom of our deck, but in this build our bombs are going to be things like Weapon Surge or Punish the Enemy , which clues will snag for us anyways. It'll get clutter of the way, making our plays stronger and more consistent. I'm changing my vote to clues.

I'm also voting for Uncovered Clues , it's an activation when we need one, regardless of what it digs or drops.

July 17, 2013 5:41 p.m.

I like Uncovered Clues here. Mending is bad enough that it may not make anyone else's mainboard, either. Even if we don't want to run all 3 Clues, at least we have that option now.

Clues is also dope in a mana flood situation.

Basically it's the equivalent to Lead the Stampede in my elf deck. It's gets you stuff you want when you have a turn that is otherwise slow, and refuels you lategame when you have mana to spare.

Looks like majority is with clues then.

actiontech says... #21

Meh, I guess clues is fine. Like I said nothing from this pack is likely to make the maindeck anyway so it's not that important really. Remember we have another set of packs coming around and in all likelihood that means 2 more Nivix Cyclops , probably one more flyer and with any luck another Weapon Surge or two.

July 17, 2013 9:49 p.m.

If we get all of those things we'll be pretty set. Uncovered Clues is a BOSS setup to Weapon Surge because of how cheap the both are relative to what they'll do for our deck.

Pack is up.
Bad news, friends. That cyclops is gone. However, this pack looks pretty easy.
Clear a Path so it cant be used against us, no?

July 18, 2013 2:08 a.m.

TiredTofu says... #24

Yep. I'm not surprised to the the Cyclops gone, but that was the risk we took when we passed it. I still think there's only one person on the table other than us who's splashing Izzet, and I have a feeling they're somewhere on our left, which is good for us in the next pack.

Rats, no cyclops.

Yeah, agree on Clear a Path
