I'm glad there's only one C-man. Otherwise it'd get awkward. You know, with the C-men and whatnot.

I'm just glad that I wasn't the one who had try and make that pun work. Thanks for taking one for the team, landgrafb.

Let's try that again, but with all of the words:

@dcarpntr - I think that macro needs to be a little bigger, even.

Oh fearless leader, when can we expect the next pack information?

New pack is finally up.Sorry about that. Caley was running a little, and I needed to get some sleep for work this morning. Apologies. On the plus side, I think this pack will be easy to choose.
Nivix Cyclops, no?

Worth noting there's nothing white in this pack. If we plan on splashing for the advent, we should get some fixing while it's there. Azorius Guildgate is semi inviting, although a 2nd Nivix Cyclops just seems smart.
June 27, 2013 10:24 a.m.
I like both the NIvic Cyclops and the Azorius Guildgate here, just about equally.

I'm on the fence here too. Either would be cool with me; although I don't expect we'll be seeing any more white this rotation. We'll need to grab it hard next pack, both to punish those to our right, and to help ourselves. I think we can afford to miss this land, since it's white half, but we need to be on the ball with fixing very soon, although the only colors that seem firm are G/U.

Having a consistent card base is arguably more important than having a consistent mana base. Basic lands are free additions to the deck; Nivix Cyclopi are not. We should take the Cyclops while it's here.
It seems that the others haven't yet prioritized color fixing yet, so there should still be opportunities to grab gates and stones. One or two white fixers should be all we absolutely need for the splash.
+1 Nivix Cyclops

With a second cyclops, we'll be committing a little bit harder to red than white, which is probably a good thing. More playable red instants/sorceries to work with. I'm content simply splashing white for the one mana symbol in Advent.

Ditto to both comments above me. Cyclops seems obvious. But the fact that 2 of them have now been passed to us suggests it may happen again, especially considering we're on our first pack still. Between the two I'd take the Azorious Guildgate now while we have an opportunity.
Also would consider Uncovered Clues. If we run 2-3 cyclops we will likely be stacking some extra sorcery/instant food for them and a potential +2 card advantage is pretty nice.

Yeah, just something to keep in mind as we proceed. I'm voting for the Cyclops.

Attention please everyone. It has come to my attention that all of our comments on this board can be read by anyone by visiting our profile pages and clicking on "recent comments." This means we can assume every other team knows all of our picks to this point. We absolutely need to come up with a different method of comms immediately.

In the meantime, send me an email at [email protected]
We'll do our discussion there until this is fixed. Thanks

I'm "Agog" that you just posted that! If anyone can delete that comment that'd be groovy.

As for the comment stream, if someone really wants to cheat that badly, I think we can let them. It's a lot of work for exactly no tangible reward. I expect that anyone starting their group comment with "I saw this while I was snooping" is going to get shut down pretty quickly regardless. I'm gonna go ahead and trust in the honesty of the people that chose to be part of this DDD.
I'd be fine taking the guildgate and assuming/hoping another cyclops will come by. It's a common, probably won't be that good as a 3-of, and clearly isn't being valued highly. It is smart to support our splash. There are definitely strong arguments for both cards.

You should have seen my face drop when I finally finished editing my post and saw that notice came in during the time I was word-smithing and trying to make up my mind. I can't delete my comment from what I can tell - I think Darkness would be the only one who can.
I'm in the same camp as landgrafb, but can go to email.

Remember that we don't have to make a Cyclops blitz deck for him to be viable. Him being on the field just makes all of our instants and sorceries better. We won't have to pack the deck full of them to get value there.
