A work in progress that I am trying to improve on. It has already shown a lot of potential.
Elves have always been one of my favorite tribes. The ability to play a long game, and play an aggro game with these creatures is always a sweet thing.
Main:
Creatures:
Elvish Mystic = Just need some 1 drops in here to help speed the deck up, and this guy does just that, allowing me to play multiple threats a turn, or play a Collected Company earlier.
Thornbow Archer
= This guy hasn't been too bad for me. Not the most ideal Elf, but it definitely holds its own as a 1 drop.
Gnarlroot Trapper
= This card is insanely good. It ramps into our other elves. It always can do some sweet combat tricks. Most of the time, if you are attacking with a 1/1 or even a 2/2 and you leave this guy back, they will not block with one of their big dudes because they fear the deathtouch ability. Well we have some spells in here to punish them for not blocking or even if they do block.
Elvish Visionary = This card can get you back in the game. From my experience with this deck, this cards seems like it almost always comes in pairs. And it isn't worthless to hit off of Company. 4 mana for 2 1/1's and draw 2 cards at instant speed, not too shabby.
Dwynen's Elite
= A bonkers Elf that really creates board presence.
Reclamation Sage = That 1 of that we will always need to ensure we just don't lose game 1 to a stupid enchantment or artifact.
Shaman of the Pack
= This card is the Lebron James of the deck. It has so much worth! I was able to "fireball" someone with this card in a match for 12 to kill them. Just like that!
Sylvan Messenger
= Another way to refuel our hand. Worth it! Plus the trample, is kind of relevant in this particular build due to some spells we have sitting in here.
Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen
= Elf lord that has reach and gains us life, hells yeah!
Removal:
Hero's Downfall = With flipwalkers, this is our only way to ensure we just don't get wrecked by opposing Liliana's or Nissa's. And I suppose Ashiok is a biotch too.
Ultimate Price
= The format doesn't have all that many multicolored creatures in it as you'd think. Also, we have Downfalls for them.
Combat Tricks/Saviors:
Titanic Growth
= An awesome combat trick to push through a ton of damage. They don't want to block my 1/1 because they fear it will just get deathtouch, fine! I will make it a 5/5! Deal with that! This can also save a dude from getting Languished so I don't lose too much tempo.
Become Immense
= Another combat trick as a 1 of that really pushes through damage. This card and Growth leave the opponent making some awkward blocks.
Collected Company = Hello! This card is a requirement by now in any green aggro deck!
Side:
Creatures:
Hornet Nest = Goblins and red are still a problem, this card softens the blow. Even against Abzan Aggro this card can work wonders. A lot of aggro decks just can't beat 1/1 deathtouch bees.
Reaper of the Wilds
= This card will most likely come in against any type of control deck running Languish and against most midrange decks. This has been one of my favorite cards for this guild. It literally is a beater! It provides some Scry-tivity. It also can be a pain to kill and a pain to block. Why isn't this card seeing much play!? Oh yeah, there's a vulnerable Rhino running around that is harder to cast and drains 3 and gains 3. Whatevs, this card still rocks!
Reclamation Sage = Because enchantments and artifacts are a pain in the butt brah!
Removal:
Bile Blight = Tokens are a thing, small creatures are a thing, this thing takes care of those things.
Eyeblight Massacre
= Simple, wipe only my opponent's goblins/small weenies.
Plummet
= Because dragons are still hard to beat and this just adds some more insurance against cards such as Dragonlord Dromoka,
Dragonlord Atarka
, etc...
Ultimate Price
= A 4th one here because it is just too good right now!
Thoughtseize = Removal of threats before they even become threats!
Other:
Chord of Calling = An instant speed tutor for pretty much any creature in my deck. A
Shaman of the Pack
is great when you have a gunked up board. A Reclamation Sage could be the key card to the win. Or how about a Hornet Nest to take your opponent by surprise and regret ever attacking you. Yeah, this works fine.
