why do you think so? most of the creatures aren't worth paying their mana cost again to scavenge. what would you put him in place of? he was in there but I took him out. thanks for the recommendation.

After putting Doubling Season in here Varolz, the Scar-Striped would be pretty great. Thanks Kirtanian.

I think Kalonian Hydra and Increasing Savagery belong in this deck because it seems like you're trying to go in the direction of counters. I personally don't like Bloodghast because that late in the game a) how many lands will you still be playing? and b) how much help is a 2/1 attacker? May just be me though. Great deck, I love Golgari!

and you have some landfall in there, may I suggest the sac lands like Verdant Catacombs , Bloodstained Mire , Misty Rainforest etc. Not only do they help with landfall, but they thin out your deck so you have less dead draws. IMO unless it's for budget issues they belong in every EDH deck. If you want the full list for green black check out my deck Glissa's Traitorous EDH

I highly recommend experimenting with Wall of Blood . It's can be blown up with jarad to win games out of no where and is easily pulled with pod or any other form of search. Plus, killing everyone in an 8 way edh, by bleeding all over them is very satisfying.

As far as cuts go... (limiting this to creatures since the wall is one) I'd say thrun. I dont see him as a threat in edh.

Added Wall of Blood , great suggestion! Can't wait to use it!

have you consider Life from the Loam and other dregde like cards , maybe it's another way to play with your general, this could be with more flashback, grave utility creatures such as Brawn , also the fact that Crypt of Agadeem enters tapped isn't bad ? i don't see that much black creatures going to your graveyard ...
i'll be checking this deck and maybe suggesting something when i get more ideas :) see ya !

I had Life from the Loam in there and I want to put it back but I can't decide what to take out. What would you remove? I don't usually use slow mana but I put Crypt of Agadeem in as a bounce back card, After someone board wipes I can usually cast 3 or 4 cards the next turn.

38 land seems like it could be kind of high when you only go up to seven mana, most of your cards are under five. You could probably cut a few lands. +1

PriestessKikyo1 I replaced a forest with Life from the Loam . Having 37 lands is the equivalent of having 22 in a 60 card deck so I think it should still work nicely. Thanks for the +1!

I'm trying to decide if I should take out a forest and put in Sickening Shoal , Snuff Out , or Hero's Downfall ... HELP!
Hero's Demise is pretty awesome too.
Thoughts?

Added Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon as an alternate win condition against life gain. Not sure if I'll keep him in there because the majority of people hate infect and it is even more broken in the commander format... but the card is just so cool!

Pack Rat is a win condition on his own and works wonders with Doubling Season .

I'd This looks fun. I Wish I could build an EDH deck. I simply lack the cards, being i've only been playing for about 4 months, Golgari rocks though

UmbraVox buy the deck Power Hungry at your local Walmart or target for $30 take out the red cards add a few other cards and Jarad as the general and there you go, a cheap Golgari commander deck that should be pretty fun to play. If you haven't gotten into commander yet I'm sure you will the first time your entire deck cycles out of standard ;)

Ever considered Garruk Relentless Flip ? He's pretty awesome. Sac a creature, get a creature.

Defense of the Heart is always great in a Golgari EDH. Bring out two fatties then sac'em, watch the table burn.

Might I consider Exquisite Blood with all of the damage being dealt to the entire table you might gain a bit of aggro and need some life.

@Dradnock: Thanks for the great suggestion! That is just what I need. I played a 4 player game tonight and it quickly turned into 3 vs 1.

Squirrel_of_War No problem, I'm really hoping you continue updating this deck. I might just use this one as the base for the Jarad EDH deck I am constructing.

Very interesting deck. I think you're missing Cauldron of Souls though. And the usual suspects: Kokusho, the Evening Star, Mindslicer and Havoc Demon.
