Bloodbraid

I wanted to see what I could do with Bloodbraid Marauder and my first thoughts were Cascade Crashing Footfalls decks; so sticking to that formula I chose various looting and cycling effects to meet the delirium requirements and find key cards. The main thing about this deck is justifying the use of Bloodbraid Marauder over other cascade enablers such as Shardless Agent/Ardent Plea; and the quick answer is that Marauder gives access to spells with 2 Mana Value. This is outstanding for using Cathartic Reunion/Thrill of Possibility for not only consistency but also enable delirium. The extra punch power this version is going for is using Fear of Missing Out for sudden devastating combat and the combination of Leyline of the Guildpact with Scion of Draco for very scary creatures. This variant gives up access to using Force of Negation but I believe the tradeoff is having a higher ceiling to be a lot faster and more aggressive while providing access to a lot of different sideboard cards.

Sideboard:

  • Boom / Bust: General land destruction to blow up an Inkmoth Nexus or Urza's Tower. Bust is a meme but Boom gets the job done and thanks to all the Landcycling the drawback is not an issue.

  • Endurance: Comes in handy against fast Graveyard combo decks or can be save the day against mill decks.

  • Hallowed Moonlight: Good against other decks trying to cheat creatures into play via Goryo's Vengeancefoil/Through the Breach ect ect.

  • Living End: An alternative payoff for Bloodbraid. The neat thing about this card is it gets around indestructible in the Humans matchup.

  • Pyroclasm: Just a sweeper to help clear a path for the Aggro strategy.

  • Thraben Charm: Utility spell to nuke enemy Graveyards/enchantments or possible creature removal.

  • Untimely Malfunction: Might be able to steal an Ancestral Vision or blow up an artifact or help clear a path for attacking.
