I don't use Ethereal Armor because it's an invitation to get 2 for 1'd. The idea behind the deck was to surprise, people usually don't expect a 1/1 DS to turn into a 13/13 DS, but when you put an ethereal armour on it, they know what is happening and will try very hard indeed to remove it from game.
@ Mythimine Loxodon Smiter is in my sideboard for against control, because he doesn't inherently have double strike I didn't want him in the MB, as it requires using another slot in order to give it DS. But he is essential when against any form of control. And I would probably go with Boros Charm / armed & dangerous over Ajani, Caller of the Pride for giving a creature DS as it is also synergistic with Wild Defiance .
@ eczernie Jund can definitely be an issue, this deck is usually faster than jund aggro, but jund control can tear it apart with sacrifices etc, which is what Sigarda is for, but it is pretty much the only answer for it I have so tends to boil down to luck in that match up (for me anyway).
Thanks for all the comments and +1s guize :-)

Yeah, a link to your Selesnya-colored deck would be cool whenever you get around to it, especially since I was thinking that if you dropped the red you could probably add in Silverblade Paladin as well as like.. Druid's Familiar so that you can T1 Arbor Elf , T2 Fencing Ace , T3 Silverblade Paladin , into T4 Druid's Familiar and then probably swing for game T5 or something like that, though Druid's Familiar probably isn't the best choice.

Well I was trying to make it a bit cheaper than an average human deck, as both Champion of the Parish and Silverblade Paladin hike the price up just as much as shock lands do. If you want to have a look:
Any suggestions are welcome, just remember I'm a stickler for underused cards :-)

Love the deck! though if you were to add revenge of the hunted and casting it for its miracle cost would make it so much better

I think you're right to be honest, I use to have it in there but took it out (not even sure why I took it out to be honest). But I could easily replace Burst of Strength with it and no longer need the pseudo vigilance it provides as Revenge of the Hunted is likely to wipe their board. Thanks dude!

I'm not really sold on it for this deck to be honest. It's a very powerful enchantment but none of my creatures have any kind of resistance so to put a 3 mana enchantment on them is just asking to be 2 for 1'd. Thanks though!

I would recommend Titanic Growth instead of Selesnya Charm, unless you're completely set on having a little bit of removal for big creatures. It allows you to be more versatile with just one green and one colorless. Also, have you ever using considered Wolf Run?
May 8, 2013 7:47 p.m.
The trample of Selesnya Charm outweighs any damage benefit Titanic Growth provides, and has way more versatility, allowing me to run fewer creatures in favour of more buffs, as it's also a 2/2 vigilance with flash if I need. And I have considered wolf run, but the deck is quite colour intensive, and doesn't really flow too well with any more than Cavern of Souls providing colourless mana.

Have you thought about using a Martial Glory or 2. With a wild defiance down it essentially becomes +9/+9 for RW.

I just wanted to take a second to say that I love this deck. Love, love, love. In fact, I think I want to take it to FNM next week to try something different and perhaps a bit exhilarating. I had played a version of pump infect back in New Phyrexia and it was a great time (if annoying for the opponent), and Wild Defiance was always a star. It's wonderful to see it being put to good use again. (Not to mention, any deck that gets value out of Revenge of the Hunted gets a thumbs-up from me!)
I do have a couple of quick questions about the parts of the deck I'm not entirely clear on, because I'd like to know your train of thought so I can pilot this thing as smoothly as possible:
1) The Cavern of Souls feels a little bit unwieldy to me, simply because only two of your creatures share Human as a type, and the rest are unique types (Beast, Elf Druid, Hydra), so it's not like it will always be effective unless you're simply naming the type of what's in your hand, which could potentially give the opponent information about what might be coming. Some clarification here of how well it's helped you--especially considering for most spells in the deck it will only produce colourless mana--would be great.
2) Silverblade Paladin can only give double strike to two creatures in the deck that don't already have it, Arbor Elf and Ghor-Clan Rampager . I'm just guessing, but I doubt you're usually going to want to swing in with the Elf, he looks like he's there to support the shocklands more than anything. Although, I suppose he'd do the job quite well with a Rancor on him, so maybe I'm off-base there... As for the Rampager, to the best of my knowledge (which is only having him used against me regularly), he's usually used as a pump spell instead of a 4/4 body, so unless that's his purpose here, it appears as though the Paladin himself is gaining double strike by pairing with whatever is available, and Savageborn Hydra and Fencing Ace already have it, so it's not necessary to pair him with those two.
Other than those simple things (which I'm sure you'll clarify!), the deck looks completely solid to me, and I'm really impressed with how it playtests. Now to put it into practice... +1 for sure. :)

I hear you on Cavern of Souls
, I included it originally as a sideboard option, but ended up moving it to the mainboard, as I didn't want to drop it, (there is a lot of control in my meta) in order to make room for other cards in the sideboard. But in plays it has often ended up not being able to cast many instants.
The Silverblade Paladin was in there as a choice out of Markov Blademaster and Hound of Griselbrand , and chose the paladin because it started as a 2/2 and also could make an Arbor Elf or Ghor-Clan Rampager double strike as well.
So I'm going to replace the cavern of souls and add in more colour for the buffs. But not really sure what I can change with the final creature, going to wait till they rotate out till I change it again.
June 20, 2013 6:17 p.m.
It's funny you mention Markov Blademaster because that's exactly where my thoughts were when considering a potential replacement for Silverblade Paladin . I'm so inspired by your deck, I'm testing versions of it with both creatures right now and can't quite tell yet exactly which is better, but I'm currently thinking that maybe the Vampire might actually my favourite of the two options. Both creatures have double-mana requirements, which could theoretically make either of them equally as difficult to cast, so fixing the mana to support the necessary colour is just a slight adjustment (so far I've gone with removing the Cavern of Souls in favour of an additional Clifftop Retreat and Stomping Ground to make red more reliable but not lose out on the green or white, which is obviously necessary).
I absolutely agree with you that the Paladin is a good creature for this deck, coming down as a 2/2 right away and granting Ghor-Clan Rampager double strike if he makes the board as a creature; however, what I seem to be preferring so far is the Blademaster's ability to potentially get bigger by up to two in a single combat phase. Both creatures can get bigger with Rancor and the green pump spells of course, but the Blademaster's second ability makes her more and more dangerous as she hits, and Faith's Shield is the perfect way to ensure that happens--which is why I want to make sure the white sources are plentiful even without the Paladin. The soulbond ability makes the Paladin reliant on other creatures to be available, where the Vampire is somewhat more self-reliant (though admittedly more fragile when she first enters the field).
I'm totally respecting your view on the Paladin though, and I'm glad he fits your playstyle better. I don't want to change your formula too much, either, so I think what I'll do is bring what few changes I finally come up with to FNM tomorrow and give you an update on how it goes so you have a perspective to go with. Thanks again for the idea! :)

Sorry about the lack of an AW on this deck; I suck. I'll give you my comments in the likely event that I don't get to it in time.
My thoughts:
You REALLY need at least two more land, I think. I would cut 1x Wild Defiance and 1x Selesnya Charm and add lands. I would also go down to 3x Ghor-Clan Rampager and add 1x Silverblade Paladin - the Paladin is faster, and most of the time, better for you.

Look into burning tree emissary. So many turn two combines. And for this deck....Emissary/mauled = two bodies at both 2 power each. Great turn two dropEmissary/tap arbor elf for white/fencing ace/rancor. 2/2 bodyEmissary/mauler effect if you only have red/green mana on field and 2/2 bodyAnd last. Emissary/tap arbor for a 1/1 wurm turn 2. Then you can buff from there
Just having a 2/2 body mid game becomes so useful
Also look into throwing down the 1W enchantment with extort so late game when you buff you can throw white mana out and gain some life. As well as deal a bit of damage. I'd also recommended a tad of spot removal for thrag/reckoner
Nice deck. I'm thinking of editing it to my own meta game
Also tossin 1-2 Kalonian if you can throw down that kinda cash (it's just so OP)

Also. I'd think about removing two selesnya charms for two clan defiance. Though it is a sorcery. The removal it does. Throw down 9 mana late game. Deal 7 to a wall your ant get past and 7 to the owner. Or even mid game for 4 mana. A 2 damage to creature and player is very nice (5 mana+ is ideal IMO but still a nice card)
Too much creature base and a simple creature removal takes it down fast. Even if you sideboard these cards; just think about running cards that work off to the side to whittle your opponent down.

+1 just for using my favorite critter, Savageborn Hydra. I love the cncept here, it looks pretty awesome. I bet you've had some spectacular swings with this deck. You should check out my Naya beatdown deck, which uses often double strike as a finisher:

Swiftblade Vindicator instead of the Fencing Ace? Looks great otherwise, theres just more value to be had there and everyone craves value right?

Have you ever thought about Ethereal Armor ? T1: Arbor ElfT2: Fencing Ace + RancorT3: Rancor + Ethereal Armor + Giant Growth Swing 11+ DS and you would still have another mana/land open for use.
Sure it's semi cookie cutter but Loxodon Smiter could also find a place here as could Ajani, Caller of the Pride for his -3 if they get a creature out T2 or T3 depending on draw vs, play then your T3 falls apart, however T4 Smiter T5 Ajani -3 on smiter gives you 4/4 flying, double strike and perhaps you boost him and all of a sudden you've got your fencing ace and smiter coming in for a bashing thats a sure fire way to win,
Just my $0.02
