is obviously going to be removed before the deck gets anywhere near being built. One card is not worth the effort to add a color... Which is why I'm interested in seeing if there is any other reason to keep blue before I get rid of it. So any thoughts on blue in this strategy anyone?

I'm very curious to see where this leads. I could see a 4 color deck, maybe with Saskia the Unyielding as the commander?

Grollub seems to be the opposite of what you want.

Unlife thanks for the interest saskia should work for now, I've been perusing some blue stuff and found nothing... Stupid blue the one time I'm interested in using it fails me.

TreeCat whoops read that one wrong... nice catch. There were like a dozen things along the same line as him. hopefully he is the only one that snuck in.

Death Pits of Rath seems bad when you damage your own creatures, and War Elemental has no benefit from taking damage.

TreeCat I think there is enough indestructible to make Death Pits of Rath worth while since it turns Pyrohemia and friends even meaner. I was thinking War Elemental works well with the activators and Repercussion but it is probably still a bad card here.

Thanks Achuta. I was happily surprised to see they are printing more enrage and was really happy when I saw Polyraptor. That thing will be an absolute nightmare.

Maybe add Exploration for some better ramp Bear Umbra can really do a lot for you if used with cards that give extra combat phases. On your commander Runes of the Deus Scourge of the Nobilis Shield of the Oversoul make it a terrifying monster

Got some good games in last night. I really need more enrage since the most enragers I had at a time was 2. The deck is hilarious though. I got Druid's Call on Stuffy Doll and then used Domri Rade to fight a 9/9 and got 9 squirrels and did 9 damage to the chosen opponent. I couldn't stop laughing at that. Later Blasting Station came down for infinite....

I also want to change more activators into Earthquake effects. Preferable repeatable ones. So once Rivals of Ixalan hits I'll include most if not all the new enrage and try and cut the activate down to 10-ish cards. Having Marath, Will of the Wild and Mirari's Wake made activating enrage really easy so I should include other mana doublers too. Marath did some serious work.

Been playtesting a bit against your deck. Cool use of the Enrage mechanic, but you have to up the number of lands in your deck. It's far too common that you have to mill down to 5 or so just to get a reasonable number of lands in your opening hand.

scoffingskeptic I'm glad you like the concept. I had been thinking about more ramp like Mana Reflection since the deck is hungry with marath but I haven't had an issue with getting three lands in hand. There are 35 mana producing lands in the deck and it seems to get enough in play for me to go pretty good most games. I'll toy around with the number though and see if it does any better. My biggest issue really is the card draw. It often doesn't show up and when it does it simply doesn't feel like enough...

I like it, but I have a question. Suppose I copied most of this deck, added some black cards with synergy and made the commander Saskia the Unyielding.

How well do you think she would support this strategy and do you think it would be worth it to add black?

ThermalMeerkat That is the commander I started off with actually after deciding to drop blue. She could be devastating on occasion but she doesn't directly help the deck. Ravos, Soultender + would be better for the reanimation and small buff for the 1/1 enragers.

Black adds some great cards like Pestilence and Pestilence Demon but adds more than enough burn on all sorts of sources that it isn't needed. You would get Soul Link and High Priest of Penance which are pretty awesome.

I find it to be really nice to use marath to activate enrage and I'm probably going to reduce my activators because of him and add more enragers. The only thing better than him is hitting all the things at once with Pyrohemia or similar.

I just realized how great Grothama, All-Devouring would be in the 99 here... Great way to activate enrage!

ive been playtesting this deck, and i really enjoy the concept. i found some cool wincons with it, like Forerunner of the empire, darksteel plate, and polyraptor for infinite raptors. but can you post a coment about your wincon strategy? how soon do you expect to win on average, and what other wincons are you looking for with it? is there a way to make it consistantly get a win between turns 6 and 8?

im wondering it adding mote Tim style, tap for direct damage, might help more. also i dont feel like you can draw very much.

while play testing this, it feels very dependant on continual attacks, and it seems to struggle if the opponent successfully board wipes.

Lord_reficuL my retired decks seem to get more attention then my active decks these last 2 weeks or so, lol. It has been a long while since I toyed with this idea but I'll do my best with it.

My biggest problem with it was always mana. Mana, mana, mana... Never felt like I had enough at any point in the game. Card draw may also be an issue but I could never play enough things to find out. Another problem I was running into was needing 3 pieces to really make the deck run well. An enrager, a protection piece, and an activator. It'll run without the protection piece but not very well... You may have found having Avacyn, Angel of Hope or one of the other protectors in play is really fun. I know I had a blast when that happened.

The deck was never really designed with "how do I win" but more "how do I get more value". My main idea was to get multiple enragers in play and one activator that can hit them all. That is why Marath was chosen. His colors helped the most and he could ping my guys or protect them a bit with a +1/+1 counter. But better than him are the earthquake effects. Pyrohemia in particular was my favorite interaction.

In order to make this run smoother I think you have to whack the top end of the deck off. At an average CMC of 4.1 it is too slow for your goal of winning between turns 6 and 8. You'll want to focus in on a way of doing things rather than my method of being all over the place. I think tokens and +1/+1 counters ought to be the way this focuses. You might remove the following to free up some space for mana or card draw: Wall of Hope, Stuffy Doll, Spitemare, Ravenous Daggertooth, Mogg Maniac, Coalhauler Swine, Cacophodon, and Boros Reckoner.

Hope that all helps. Let me know if you have any more questions or if I didn't answer something satisfactory. :)
