Maybeboard

The most important thing to note is that Patron's ability can be used during each of your opponent's turns because he untaps himself! Because of this, you can activate expensive activated abilities, use mana sink abilities, and cast instants (or spells if you have Vedalken Orerry or creatures if you have Winding Canyons) during other people's turns!

However, under normal circumstances, in order for Patron to use his ability during your opponent's turns, you can't attack with Patron or else he will be tapped. Sword of Vengeance, Haunted Cloak, and Akroma's Memorial solve this problem by giving him haste (you can activate his ability the turn you summon him), vigilance (you can attack with him and still use his ability during your opponent's turns), and trample (your opponent can't simply chump block with a creature token).

Also, Seedborn Muse, Awakening, and Wilderness Reclamation serve as backup in case Patron is not available.

The deck relies heavily on Patron, so the hexproof suite added is: Lightning greaves, Swiftfoot boots, Asceticism, and Archetype of Endurance.

Infinite combos:

Combo 1: Haste + Patron of the Orochi + Temur Sabertooth + enough mana = inf mana

Combo 3: Karametra's Acolyte with at least 5 devotion or Selvala, Heart of the Wilds with Patron + Staff of Domination = inf mana + draw your deck + inf life gain + inf untapping of all your creatures + keep all your opponent's creatures tapped down forever

Ideal snakes that can be sacrificed to Patron: Hooded Hydra and Honored Hydra. A few other worthy snakes: ohran viper and ohran frostfang.

The key to playing this deck is to not overextend: if you have a mana sink on the field (such as Staff of Domination), don't play another mana sink unless you either have to, or the first mana sink is destroyed/exiled).

The reason the deck is called the drunk boss is because when I summon him, he is the boss of the deck (as you can tell, the entire deck revolves around him) and he's drunk because he has summoning sickness, but once the boss wakes up, suddenly the "factory"'s (ie token makers, etc) production is much faster lol!

2020 updates:

-Hour of Promise (no special lands to get, really. More important to ramp out Patron) +Migration Path

-Basalt Monolith (it has potential to go infinite with Rings of Brighthearth, but without Rings, it's a one-time deal unless you have patron out. But even if you have patron out, better to use your mana for your mana sink than untapping this) +Circuitous Route

-Cloudstone Curio (does nothing by itself) -Yisan, the Wanderer Bard (activations can potentially whiff) -Frontier Guide (doesn't do anything until patron is out, as spending 4 mana to get 1 land pre-Patron is expensive) -Grim Monolith (one time deal, not worth untapping when patron is out either) +Lightning Greaves +Swiftfoot Boots +Asceticism +Archetype of Endurance

-1 Forest

+Bonders' Enclave

-Bonder's Enclave

+Hall of the Bandit Lord

More speed + infinite combo potential with Basalt Monolith and Rings of Brighthearth:

-Circuitous Route

-Explosive Vegetation

+Grim Monolith

+Basalt Monolith

-Forest

+Jeweled Lotus

-Jeweled Lotus

+Sakura-Tribe Scout

-Geode Golem

+Recross the Paths

-Ranger’s Path

+Canopy Tactician
