The Eldrazi's Return

Modern

LuckyCharms7

Do you like making your opponents grudgingly sacrifice their creatures, wiping their battlefield clean, and dealing tons of damage with deadly high-powered creatures? If so, then you will love this deck.

This is my modified Eldrazi (from Zendikar Vs. Eldrazi Dual Decks) deck. I realized I could make some substitutions for some cards in the deck, and I think I have added some pretty good cards, such as Tribute to Hunger, and Swarm of Bloodflies, whose counter ability triggers every time any creature dies. This ability is useful in this deck because you can ramp up the creature's power. For instance, if an opponent sacrifices a creature because of one of your Eldrazi's annihilator abilities, is destroyed because of yours or someone else's instants or sorceries, or dies in combat, you can put a +1/+1 counter on Swarm of Bloodflies for each creature destroyed. It's also nice when another player is using a swarm deck, or when you sacrifice a 0/1 Eldrazi spawn creature token for mana; Swarm of Bloodflies will get +1/+1 for each creature that dies.

Gravepurge is also pretty nice, as it gives you a chance to bring large or small creatures from your graveyard back to the battlefield in the next few turns.

And since there are a lot of swamps in the deck due to the majority of creatures being black, Nightmare is a good card because its toughness and power are equal to the number of swamps you control.

Emrakul's Hatcher's main purpose in this deck is to bring in 0/1 Eldrazi spawn creature Tokens with "Sacrifice this creature: add (1) to your mana pool, as there are three of them in the deck, and they each bring three such of those creature Tokens onto the battlefield. Having more of these on the battlefield will make it easier for you to cast some of your more deadly creatures with really high converted mana costs.

One of these high-costing creatures is a nasty ruthless little creature called It That Betrays. While its converted mana cost is (11), a seemingly outrageous amount, it is not too difficult if you have at least some mana on the field and some 0/1 Eldrazi spawn creature tokens that you can sacrifice for mana. While this creature, like most of the big Eldrazi in this deck, has Annihilator 2 (when it attacks, defending player sacrifices two permanents), this card has you put permanent sacrificed this way on the battlefield under your control. Let me tell you, nothing will piss off your opponents more than using their own creatures against them. So, naturally, if you can afford to cast it, this card is awesome!

I know there are some big Eldrazi that I haven't included in this deck, but I'd be open to suggestions to other creatures or combos I can put into this deck to make it even more effective.

The only problem I have encountered with this deck is getting mana blocked (I have added Sol Ring to the Acquireboard for that reason), which is a possibility with any deck, especially one with dangerously high-powered creatures, but given a few turns, it has the potential to exact massive amounts of destruction and mercilessly decimate your opponents!

I am open to and welcome any suggestions. Feel free to comment or ask questions below. Also, don't hesitate to playtest this deck for yourself, and remember to Up Vote it if you really like it!

Thank-you!

Disclaimer: I own all of these cards (excepting those un the Acquireboard), and most of them were taken from the Eldrazi Deck from Zendikar Vs. Eldrazi Dual-Decks (DDP). I have simply taken the deck that was already marketed and sold, which I bought, and have modified with some of my own cards.
