In Shelf, you can take a deck that is or once was in Standard, and duel it against other decks that were or are in Standard. For example, you can play a deck of Mirrodin-Kamigawa deck versus an Innistrad-Return to Ravnica deck. The rules are as follows:

• Decks in this format contain only cards from 8th edtion and beyond.
• You can only use cards that were once in Standard together.
• Your opponent can use a different Standard than the one you are playing with.
• To sum it up, this format is Standard, but you can pick which Standard you want to play with.
