You need Vines of Vastwood or Ranger's Guile instead of Not of This World . You don't need to protect your fatties. You need to protect your defenders. You can always play another fatty if you have the manna. 7 manna to protect an Overgrown Battlement is extremely inefficient. Letting your manna dorks die leaves you with no way to win.

There should also be some reason for including a creature other than being huge and costing a lot. Kozilek, Butcher of Truth is way better than ulamog. They're both fatties but destroying one permanent isn't relavent. It's still going to win you the game if it's not answered but kozilek gives you extra threats in case it dies. It That Betrays is a win-more card if I ever saw one. Cut it and add additional copies of Ruric Thar, the Unbowed or creature protection.

You could also try out Momentous Fall but I'm not sure about it.

Inkmoth Nexus ?? I would definitely go with Blinkmoth Nexus unless you will be killing them with poison.

@failedshaman Very good point about the low cost hexproof cards. They would work pretty well. The main reason I used Not of This World was because it also countered abilities which can be pretty difficult to deal with and are the only thing that can kill Emrakul. It was just the added protection that would stall their spell for a turn which allowed me to get that hit in on turn 5 or when ever it was. But the mana producers really are the important thing so I think I will make a few changes accordingly. Also you are very right about It That Betrays but I still like him too much to drop. He is far too amusing of a card to play.

@devotiontoblue Inkmoth Nexus is there as an alternate win condition to kill them in about a turn in the event that they have enough blockers, like in the case of elf tokens or the like, or after they wipe the board. The thing about this deck is that it doesn't win by whittling them down after a few hits. It kills them in 2 turns after the eldrazi hit the field as it is suppose to. If I were to go with Blinkmoth Nexus instead, I would have to put in a minimum of 23 mana using Kessig Wolf Run to kill them. (1 mana to turn it into a creature, 2 mana to pay for the cost of wolf run then 20 for the X cost) That takes a few turns to do and it leaves me with no other options mana wise. With Inkmoth Nexus I can put 10 less mana in and kill them in one attack making it the better win condition. On top of that the infect circumvents lifegain so the infinite health combos, soul sister decks, and similar styles of play that are in modern can't really do much to deal with it.

Urza-lands help a lot with ramping.

@Colgate The only problem with urza lands is that if I add them then I start running out of green land sources. If I have don't get a green mana source on turns 1 or 2 then the deck starts to become uselss because I can't play any of my mana dorks. I don't want to replace my Eldrazi Temple s because they basically do the same thing as the urza lands when I use them for eldrazi but with out the prerequisite of having 3 individual lands out. I can't take out my other non basic lands because they each provide their own important role for the deck.

I had a really hard time beating this deck. I lost two to one And only won one round because i really lucked out with cards from my sideboard.. Nicely done.

@Quadsimotto Thanks. It is quite fun to play and when it wins, it is does in a very dramatic way. What did you play against it?

Smack Your Deck Up! i had to sideboard out five cards to actually get a win. 2Tormod's Crypt 1Relic of Progenitus 2Hurkyl's Recall . Emakrul and Ulamog gave me fits. Plus once that damn Primeval Titan hit the board shiiiit it was pretty much game over. It was fun to play but i wouldnt want to sit across the table from it.

@Quadsimotto I am trying to make this a bit more competitive so I was considering taking out It That Betrays and replacing him with a 6-8 mana creature. Do you have ideas what I might be able to add in place of him? It can be nearly any color as long as it isn't too steep of a color price outside of g/r but it needs to be a very high quality creature that can help win the game on it's own if needed.

yeah actually if you want to give your opponent fits try throwing in a Platinum Angel to buy time and draw fire.

it can't win the game outright but it sure wont lose you the game. It will allow you to get out your bigger fellows without worry of life total dropping to nil.

Great idea! I love ramp decks (especially the interesting defender ones) and I've always loved using either Quicksilver Amulet and/or Elvish Piper to cheat in fatties! This deck does both, and does them well! +1 of course.
