you only have to remove the foils from the cards, and Scrubland from this build to make it fairly acceptable price. I think its about $400 if you do that. like he said there is a budget version, that i got it down to $223 and didnt loose the function of the deck.

why not run Wrath of God over Day of Judgement?!?!?!!, wrath of god is slightly better in my opinion. also why no Cauldron of Souls you have all this ETB going on and you use minion reflector and strionic resonator why not cauldron of souls.

I'd had cauldron of souls in there before, but took it out a while ago because the deck managed to bounce the creatures more often than sacrificed them. I'm looking to add in some more sacrifice cards, so I may end up putting it back in. The Day of Judgment over Wrath of God is purely cosmetic. If I end up getting a foil 7th edition one, then that will go in instead, but I had a full art foil Day of Judgment in my collection and used that instead. There are hardly any players in my group that use regeneration, so it hasn't been too much of a deal. That could always change though.

i actually had a game where it mattered today, someone had an Experiment One they were beating people in the face with due to Vorel of the Hull Clade. then again you have so much exile tbh the only time i think it would ever consistently come up would be if someone makes Thrun, the Last Troll voltron EDH.

in general what feels off to you about the deck? just wondering where the next iteration of improvements could go. maybe more utility?

btw, ever try Loyal Retainers?

Not totally sure what feels off. The deck definitely works and does well against competitive decks. Adding in more mana ramp helped as well, and the deck gets off the ground quicker. I've even made the deck more resilient against graveyard hate, so I think the only thing that I'm wondering is if I'm relying too much on spot removal and need to add in a few more board wipes. Really I think the only limitations of the deck are inherent in the colors. It just can't prevent people from doing a crap combo involving sorceries etc. When someone Genesis Waves for 20 I can't really do anything about it.

Far as the Loyal Retainers goes, I've passed on the "legendary only" type cards because I don't have that many legendary creatures in the deck to make it worth it.

i think adding more tutors is a major thing that the deck could benefit from, and maybe a Bitter Ordeal to help with gutting combo decks? Tbh the only thing I think would really help you is more black tutor goodness.

Well I could take out a Vampiric Tutor from my other deck. Maybe add in a Diabolic Tutor too? I'd had a Demonic Collusion in there at one point, but took it out because it was a bit too expensive.

maybe Insidious Dreams, or Diabolic Intent? I think you tried both previously but maybe with the changes they might work better now? i dislike the discard on dreams a lot though. also Beseech the Queen might see some good chances now that you have such a low curve for a lot of answers in this deck.

Sadistic Sacrament is perfect for combo decks, or if you just need to remove a few Eldrazi's. and speaking of Eldrazi's, Praetor's Grasp, target someone who has them, or any other colorless key tool in their deck that you could play.

Already got Sadistic Sacrament in here, and it's perfect again combo decks. Not really needing the Praetor's Grasp when I have so much removal, but I'm definitely putting in Insidious Dreams and Beseech the Queen. Now what to take out...

Vengeful Dreams its situational, and you're looking to put cards from your hand into the graveyard on purpose

there isn't much room for change in this deck it works really efficient and best part is it doesn't rely on Teysa, Orzhov Scion

after seeing it in use, i think Diabolic Tutor would be preferable to Insidious Dreams, since the fact that it did not readily place it into your hand proved to be an issue with how your deck lacks a draw engine. on that note, some form of draw engine could be highly beneficial, such as Infernal Tribute , Culling Dais, or Infernal Offering. In addition, simple greed effects like Greed, and Erebos, God of the Dead could help alot as well. the deck is incredibly apt at utilizing all available resources, and you play a style that lets you simply gain cards in hand by not appearing a threat, but the moments it is weakest is when more than a single player is pressuring you to respond with answers.

i like creatures with draw power, Harvester of Souls, Bloodgift Demon, and Baleful Force.. other cards to consider, Gravestorm and Dark Prophecy.. a cool combo with that is Dark Prophecy + Deathrender + Mortuary

You're right about the Vengeful Dreams, but it's a really cheap way to take out a lot of threats all at once. I do have an Infernal Tribute in here now, but you may be right about the Diabolic Tutor. I'm going to let the Insidious Dreams ride for a bit so I can get used to it first. Greed may go back in, but I do have Infernal Tribute, Staff of Nin, Moonlight Bargain, and Wall of Omens as my draw engines. Dark Prophecy was a contender a while back, so I think I'll but it back in the maybeboard. Baleful Force does look pretty damn nice though. Drawing a card at the beginning of each upkeep is pretty slick. The casting cost doesn't even matter with this deck too.

After play testing this i think you need more creatures. I went ten turns with only a sin collecter.

oh and bacoric you wish Ashen Rider was coming out...

March 16, 2015 2:51 p.m.

freezerboy says... #20

griffstick, I do agree. Sometimes the deck does lack in creatures and it's something that I've gone back and forth on. Do you go for more creatures, or have more utility for when you get them?

March 16, 2015 3:15 p.m.

griffstick says... #21

Thats a good question i like to use creatures that do the same thing that instants sorcerys and enchantments do like Bloodgift Demon is a Phyrexian Arena or Reiver Demon is a board wipe Crypt Ghast ext ext you get the point. once theres a board presence your less likly to get attacked. Even if they are "utility" creatures.

March 16, 2015 3:45 p.m.

freezerboy says... #22

I'll have to think on that for a bit. There aren't many creatures that can do what I need my instants/sorceries to do. I do think the number needs to increase a bit...maybe add 2 more creatures.
