you mean because Gisela, Blade of Goldnight doubles the damage against them? cause she still wouldn't reduce the hit from Volcano Hellion. just confused a bit about the statement on that interaction since she has a wall of text.

Damn...nevermind. I didn't realize she said "prevent" half the damage...been playing that wrong and no one called me out on it. Damn you Volcano Hellion.

Your just missing Mikaeus, the Unhallowed

I'd had Mikaeus, the Unhallowed in here for a bit, but I ended up taking him out since the mechanic was too situational. If I had more sac outlets, then it would make more sense. Might be a possible change to the deck if I dropped some of the token generation for more white creatures...

Lord of Lineage  Flip might be a good option for token generators plis they are black tokens

Interesting...what would you swap out for it?

it seems way too slow to ramp up and far too susceptible to removal, both mass and spot. i think your deck benefits most from things with impact the moment they drop.

Well you could throw in a Blasting Station and Retribution of the Ancients

I'd considered Heartless Summoning, but the deck relies on 1/1 creature tokens and a few others that would have to get taken out. It would change the deck dynamic a bit too much. I'm trying to round the deck out a bit more to see if I can get some more win cons, rather than just locking people out with Yosei, the Morning Star, or just basic damage.

well, i mean there's 3 ways to win in commander that we would consider right? establish the presence to make them scoop, such as control, kill them with damage, or kill them with commander damage. teysa seems unsuited for commander damage kills, and you have the control, so maybe adding in some like a Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon or Flesh-Eater Imp or something massive to reanimate like It That Betrays for quicker kills?

Lithion says... #12

Well the reason I said heartless summoning is cause of mikaeus and blasting station and the tokens wont die if mikaeus or sumthin els that gives than +1/+1is on the field

What about Blood Funnel?

April 9, 2015 4:53 a.m.

freezerboy says... #14

Blood Funnel eh? Interesting idea though I may have too few creatures to really benefit from it. I'd rather not have more decks that run poison counters though...I don't want to get a reputation in our playgroup for killing people with infect. I may run the Rise of the Dark Realms concept though for a possible game ender. I always figured that since the deck exiles so much I wouldn't have too many creatures in graveyards to choose from.

My friend plays dark realms and everytime he plays it he wins @Lithion tokens are exiled once they change zones. So they dont come back

Ik but mikaeus gives all non humans +1/+1 and you could also run honor of the pure or heiliods spear ir sumthin

True, but now you're looking at the deck more from a token angle, and that's not really where I'm going with it. The token generation is supplemental, like Icatian Crier, who's discard ability is important, but also gives me tokens. Same with Elspeth, Sun's Champion...where I can board wipe just as easily as make tokens.

I am thinking of putting in an Armageddon as well, though that is a real game killer if you aren't able to kill everyone off right then. Could go well with a Living Death.

griffstick says... #18

Dont do Armageddon. "Kill joy"

April 9, 2015 6:27 p.m.

freezerboy says... #19

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Should probably just stick with the Rise of the Dark Realms. Less "kill joy" and more "massive attack."

Thinking of adding a Gray Merchant of Asphodel, though I wonder if the limited devotion will make him a lot less powerful. Also, Cloudchaser Kestrel looks like a nice addition to the deck, as well as Academy Rector and Debtors' Knell.

I suggested Debtors' Knell a long time ago. The card is super OP

griffstick says... #22

Distorting Lens does. A similar thing. But you run a recursion deck so what you have in mind, might be better. Exspecialy since youll be able to destroy someones enchantment.

what about Eight-and-a-Half-Tails if you are going that route? it has the same effect for colorless mana so you aren't as mana locked, same amount of white mana in cost so curve isn't thrown, and a load of other utility.

May 2, 2015 7:24 p.m.

freezerboy says... #24

That is true for both suggestions, though the Cloudchaser Kestrel has an added ETB effect that's nice. You are right griffstick, and I debated on putting it in then...though I think at the time I thought it was too expensive CC wise. Now that I've played the deck a ton I realize that it can lag a bit in the late game.

the cloudechaser has recursive enchantment removal which is nice no doubt, but considering the only removal you really need to worry about is exile removal which is as far as i know always white, it could add a lot of survivability, though mass removal still gets you, both are very solid choices.
