Righteous War seems pretty good for you. Same mana cost

Haha, a valiant effort. I'm looking for something that either ETB or ETG that makes a player discard or exile a card. I'd thought about using Abyssal Horror in the past, but I wasn't able to choose the cards.

I'd considered the Debtors' Knell, but that kinda begs to have Academy Rector in the deck, and I'm not sure I want to take up 2 slots for an ability that I abuse in the deck already. Strands of Night was kind of a lower cost option.

That is definitely a possibility. I was getting decent results with it in my mono black deck, but decided to switch it for Myojin of Night's Reach.

Hi there. I love Teysa decks so I just wanted to offer up my thoughts on your conundrum with Sin Collector. Thought about going infinite with Darkest Hour ?

Don't really go for the infinite combo thing. I'd rather keep the deck honest.

Okay. +1 and I'll be keeping my eye on this one. Good job with it.

you see Mesmeric Fiend? might be an interesting sin collector esque card that can hit anything for less, permanently if you sac it or blink it when it comes in.

Thanks Casey4321, and I have seen Mesmeric Fiend...and for simplicity's sake I've stayed away from the "need to blink to make it permanent" type cards. Other than Angel of Serenity. I'm getting more tempted to go that route though...

Sadly I use discarding as a mechanic to put large cost creatures into the graveyard. With Necropotence's second ability it would exile those cards instead.

Okay 2 last things. 1. Take a look at mine? It has a more token theme but I think it's pretty good. Death and Debt and what about Magister of Worth ?

I did have Magister of Worth in the maybeboard for a while. Ended up leaving it out since I didn't necessarily want to leave the options up to my opponents. It totally fits the theme of the deck though, so I've always wanted to put it in...you never know though. Could be a nice alternate option for Living Death though.

Hey I just thought of another thing. Hell's Caretaker

Ah Hell's Caretaker...Probably one of my favorite cards, but sadly the upkeep requirement makes him not nearly as playable as a Doomed Necromancer or Apprentice Necromancer. It was one of those cards that I really wanted in the deck, but there are simply better options out there. Same with Dawn of the Dead. Love the flavor of them, but they just aren't good enough.

Right. Makes sense. I'm probably just going to keep having thoughts and posting them on this page hope you don't mind lol

Not at all. I've resigned myself that just because a card has been in the deck a while, that it's position isn't set in stone. I'm honestly toying with the idea of adding in some more mana ramping cards like Tithe or Land Tax

Nice lot of very interesting synergies +1 from me be a nightmare to face this deck haha.

It can get pretty intense, especially when you get an Entomb and an Animate Dead in your first hand.
January 7, 2015 4:44 a.m.
That's horrible haha, almost as annoying as playing Serra Ascendant first turn except you can play cards with more versatility and synergy.
January 7, 2015 4:54 a.m.
With Mikaeus, the Unhallowed in there as well would it be fruitful to suggest Retribution of the Ancients? It's a card I've found (recently haha) that works really well with my Vish Kal deck and I can imagine constant recursion would be quite insane with this deck.

Kind of looking for a replacement for Sin Collector. It's been a bit underwhelming against people who run creature heavy decks. Any ideas?
