aeonstoremyliver: Yes, you are right! Gush is banned in Legacy.
I first wanted to create an old school stasis deck, and probably will, but it quickly devolved into this.
Stasis definitely one of my top 5 favorite cards.
I was never a very serious player, but I played for a while in 1999 and I remember playing with a lot of the cards you are talking about. Probably one of the reasons I play Legacy is because there are so many cards from those days that I, too, have nostalgia for.

Wouldn't Banishing Knack be a better option than Boomerang given that so many of your creatures have vigilance-es qualities. I'm not big into legacy, but this deck looks quite fun.

BattleWalrus: Yes, I agree. I have no plans on adding anything from the maybeboard at this point, though (including Boomerang .) None of it is really necessary given what I have, but if I wanted to create a more old-school Stasis deck, I would.

Yeah, I do as long as they aren't ridiculous and completely unfit for the deck, or if it's already on the maybeboard.

You might be able to quicken this deck up with Lotus Petal it's a pretty easy card to get and can make all of this happen a bit earlier perhaps

Keegan8or: Yeah, I know. The goal of this was to create a budget deck using no proxies that could still hold its own in tournament play. But yes, that would be a good addition.

Oh haha, there are versions of that card that aren't 30 dollars, older and non-foiled versions can be like 10 or less or something like that, I found some for 5 on amazon, just so you know

New to legacy, but this looks like a much more interesting take on the Death and Taxes lockout theme, and it's much less expensive. +1 from me.

kyuuri117: This is nothing like death & taxes. D&T are a white weenie deck, and this is a blue control deck.

I recommend changing zephyr falcon for Hovermyr , since i think its just better. Also Bladed Bracers isnt particularly good, you're better off running something like Trusty Machete or Flayer Husk

also without any form of draw card, there's a chance you will run out of gas for Forsaken City , so I would recommend either adding Howling Mine or changing the city for Undiscovered Paradise

GeoKinetic: The whole point of Bladed Bracers is to give vigilance to Invisible Stalker so he doesn't tap when attacking. Trusty Machete and Flayer Husk don't give vigilance.
Forsaken City is sort of a Plan C in this deck, since it is not needed with Chronatog or the Hidden Strings + Invisible Stalker combo.

Also, since I don't have an untap phase when Stasis is in play, Undiscovered Paradise doesn't do much in a mono-colored deck. I'd have to untap it with Hidden Strings .

Death and Taxes is aggro control with a heavy emphasis on control. Locking out lands, blowing up the rest, locking out searching through your deck, and locking out activated abilities on permanents. Yes, they are different colors with somewhat different strategies, but they both focus on locking out your opponents deck to win.

Ever consider replacing Chronatog with Fog Bank ? It tend to have a lot of aggro from people when they place this deck. Fog seems to help me out pretty nicely.

Viperish: That would be a great sideboard addition. Have you been playing with it?
June 18, 2014 9:54 p.m.
Yes, everyone at work hates the deck. I started off with a version like yours but with more birds and Serra 4/4 Vig Flying. 20 Creatures total. Then started to change it up since I was being a number one target in 3+ group matches. The Fog Banks seems really strong against aggressive decks. I was getting myself into having 6-8 health left before I locked everyone down in a 4 player match. But, the walls helped me stay above that.
On a 1 vs 1 stand point. I never really get the good play choice of bringing Chronatog out. I usually get 2-3 on the first 6-7 turns. Seems he likes to flood my opening hands. Even with letting others shuffle the deck lol. I just gave up on using him.
I usually run a http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/10-06-14-WFi-stasis/ version of this Stasis deck. Aqueous Form helped a lot when dealing with opponents using flyers.

I've also been testing out using 2x Propaganda They seem awesome with Meekstone

+1 for Nostalgia!
Twiddle was the old school spell used in a Stasis deck. Boomerang at the end of your opponent's turn to return Stasis to your hand, play your stuff, then recast Stasis on your second main phase. We also used to be able to tap Winter Orb , but the updated oracle text changed that. Pfft.
Serra Angel was the big win-con. Icy Manipulator was also used. Mana Short was pretty badass in this build, as was Mana Drain . Arcane Denial was also pretty killer back then.
Undiscovered Paradise could be very useful, as could Spell Pierce and even Mana Leak . Although Daze is pretty awesome on it's own.
Isn't Gush banned in Legacy?
