Viperish: So glad to hear that people are playing my deck! And your feedback is very helpful to me. I've only been able to do so much playtesting since creating it and it's stories like yours that help improve it.

You might want to consider the counter spell Thwart . It is usually by far the worst mana-less counterspell, however in your deck when in a stasis situation this spell really shines since it returns much needed islands to your hand if you opponent ever manages to cast something against you when frozen ether isn't out. In your deck this card rocks! It also can feed the Forsaken City if you need to exile a card to keep the stasis in play before your main phase. Daze can function much the same way.

Also Vedalken Mastermind would probably be better than the invisible stalkers for your purposes. It makes you have about 4 plans for making the stasis work.

@ Cinderdrive The stalkers main purpose is that they have hexproof. Taking down a hexproof with unblockable is hard.

That they are, but there it's only so much space in the deck so of something has to go I choose them

How do you prevent your opponent from using Force of Will on Stasis before it resolves?
Really nice deck by the way, +1 for a budget legacy deck.

He has Daze . Altho, just running 4x daze seems risky.
I dont see the point in having 4x High Tide . You need 3 islands to benefit from it, and even then you only ramp up one mana. With all but Frozen AEther being 1 or 2 drops it seems kinda overkill to have a late game ramp spell. Also, when you are in "stasis mode" you will probably not have that many untapped island to benefit from High Tide .
I would suggest running 4x Spell Pierce instead, just to make sure your opponent cant play Counterspell s or Disenchant s on your Stasis .

Curious to hear opinions on this:
I've been reading a bit about stasis after building a similar deck to this. In tourney scenarios it could be advantageous to have an alternative win condition that we could mainboard out of the sideboard in game 2.
First, the consensus is that Chronatog is not really a great win condition, because it historically hasn't been successful trying to deck your opponent in a stasis deck. I went ahead and got rid of mine, which was hard to do because of that beautiful smiling face.
I added Bay Falcon because it's basically a Zephyr Falcon so I can chisel away on my opponent. I left in Invisible Stalker because I like the guaranteed Hidden Strings combo.
For counters, right now, I have: Daze , Muddle the Mixture (which of course doubles in purpose), Thwart (just 1, in case), and Mana Leak .
I have Hidden Strings as described in your deck. Then 2 Rescue which I can't wait to play at the end of my opponent's turn on my stasis, then replay it after but hopefully get some extra untapped land to use for additional cards.
The big thing I added, the extra win condition material, is Thumbscrews and Ebony Owl Netsuke - basically, while everyone is locked out, these guys deal damage to the opponent due to hand size. What I would probably do is toss these guys in instead of the falcons during the second round. Or the other way around. That way if they bring out creature hate for rd 2, I've got artifacts on deck.
Thoughts? I felt the need to increase counters, and I really like the artifacts as a secondary win con.

JJones1090: Those artifacts are great! And I like that they are budget appropriate. They would both make great win conditions for the deck. I have added them to my sideboard as well.

Sigil of Sleep might be a good sideboard card at least :)

Hey there brother. Can you help me out. I'm really having difficulty seeing why you are using Forsaken City . Seems to only hurt your High Tide

Because you can untap it even when Stasis is down by discarding a card. That way, you can keep Stasis in play, since you have to have an untapped blue mana source at the beginning of your turn. Once Stasis is down, you probably won't be using High Tide for a few turns.

By the way, I just realized I hadn't updated this decklist since I added Lotus Petal , and it makes the value of the deck skyrocket because TCGPlayer values it at way more than you can get them for (around 6 bucks). It's still a very cheap Legacy deck. I would estimate you can pick up everything here for around 60 bucks tops.

Awesome deck, but I'm a little surprised to not see the Great Whale or Palinchron. Usually those go hand in hand with High Tide Stasis. Or do you just feel they are not necessary since you aren't running Vedalken Mastermind? I always ran Stasis with Mastermind/Palinchron as my main win-con. Bouncing Stasis and recasting it seemed better than finding ways around not having an untap step. But yours requires less pieces, and extra damage isn't really needed when your opponent is locked out. Plus I suppose you can get your lockout online a lot quicker. Typically I would rely on Intuition to grab a copy of whatever I needed so I didn't have to stall out for so long. High Tide just seems unnecessary in this list, I feel like it should be more counter magic. Anyway, just a thought, great deck for sure, I really like your take on it. +1

Clean up your maybe board. It makes you look unprofessional and as if you don't know what to have in this deck at all. I know this sounds really mean and offensive but I'm just trying to be nice by letting you know.

Also, what's really even more nice is that Fog Bank will keep creatures at bay. With it's combo of Meekstone to keep them tapped. So, your opponent is scrambling to figure a way out. By that time, you should have a Aether and Stasis hopefully set up with your Cipher + Stalker.
