Maizena: First off, The Rack doesnt work like you think. It hurts people for having 0 cards in hand, not a bunch. As for the other two, this is not a Nekusar list. I am looking to fly under the radar early game by dropping symmetrical card draw, and then closing out the game with a big finish.

I actually didnt realize that I could use Mind Over Matter quite that way. I feel like I would need an Eldrazi Titan to make that work, though.

Thanks for the suggestions!

My bad with The Rack.

You can use the MoM + TB to win with Laboratory Maniac. Or (if you are the player with most cards in the deck) you can just mill all of your opponents. Is it risky? Yes it is, but you have FoW and Pact to protect you.

Guile or Blightsteel Colossus work best with the Temple Bell + Mind Over Matter combo - they don't interact with the stack on their replacement effect so opponent's cannot wipe your GY in response to the shuffle-in effect!

Otherworld Atlas also works as a combo piece with Mind Over Matter.

Happy Brewing!

If i can suggest two cards i would put in howling mine and spellbook - howling mine helps your main goal, and spellbook makes you not have to discard every two seconds if you dont get tower.

Howling Mine is already in the deck

Spellbook just doesn't do enough to warrant a slot, things like Thought Vessel tap for mana which helps progress my mana

Never thought about this guy as a commander, but I like it.

I disagree that Arcane Laboratory makes it difficult for you to establish your lock. Sure, it hinders you, but you're running a gigantic number of counterspells - it limits how your opponents use the extra cards you give them, and means you only have to hold up one counterspell per opponent to fully lock down the game. It's a vicious, vicious control card, especially since you're giving your opponent more resources with Kami. I'd also consider Damping Sphere for a similar reason.

I'd personally run Stifle and/or Disallow here, because they shut off enemy fetch lands and are an unexpected form of control (since many people see their triggers as inviolable).

Have you considered Teferi, Temporal Archmage as additional an way to maintain a lock with Stasis? Or Teferi's Realm to perma-phase things out of existence? If you're willing to control into the long-game, Tidal Force also does wonders to keep the flowing for Stasis.

Well hello there...

bushido_man96: Thanks man! Don't forget to upvote!

Daedalus19876:

So I've never heard of Tidal Force, seems pretty good, but I don't think it's what I'm really looking for, I will probably put it in the maybeboard, just in case.

Arcane Laboratory Is not going in the deck. I feel like it hinders me too much.

Damping Sphere is fun. Maybeboard for now.

Stifle and Disallow seem decent. Again, Maybeboard for now until I can find the slots.

Teferi, Temporal Archmage Seems like it may be decent. Maybeboard??

Been considering adding Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir+Knowledge Pool so my opponents can't cast spells...

Just out of curiosity, how do you card link a card under a specific phrase as you did when linking kami of the crescent moon under "blue fat weirdo"

IAmTheWraith says... #10

So, it's really just basic tagging.

If you already know how to tag a card, then you just add to the end, like this, but take out the periods inside the brackets:

[.[Kami of the Crescent Moon|The Fat Blue Weirdo].]

IAmTheWraith thanks for the help on commands, Just needed to know because I'm refining my own deck's description to be more thematic.

Nice deck! Have you considered using Future Sight here? I have found it to work really well with Paradox Engine. Also, Mana Vortex? A bit of land destruction seems like a good way to keep opponents locked out of the game.

Lastly, try Tezzeret the Seeker . It has a lot of targets in your list, not to mention a good way to tutor for key artifacts like Isochron Scepter and the Engine.

Megalomania:

No, I have not considered Future Sight, I draw enough cards to make it negligible. Mana Vortex was in the list for a while, but it eventually got cut for Back to Basics, it was just too underwhelming

Tezzeret the Seeker seems decent, I'll consider him.

Thanks!

you may want to consider Jace Beleren and/or Howling Golem with Psychosis Crawler to really embrace the grouphug card draw with a malicious hidden plot

As someone who thinks infinite combos are the bane of existence, holy crap this deck in brutal and infuriating. That being said, it is quite impressive. Have you considered Telepathy as a way to know exactly what your opponents are up to while you set up the Stasis lock? I've played against enough Kami of the Crescent Moon decks to know that it always needs to die first (and I am sure I am not alone). So if your opponents see someone else with a hand full of heaters, they might leave you alone because a) you are drawing them extra cards and b) the other person seems scarier at the time.

Also, what about Psychosis Crawler as an additional path to victory?

IAmTheWraith says... #16

Plazmasoul: So the goal of the deck isn't really group hug, I use the card advantage from my commander and the effect to tear through my deck rather quickly. That being said, no on the Jace, Golem, or Crawler.

Hi_diddly_ho_neighbor: Thanks for the compliment! I enjoy combo decks that are less inevitable. That being said, I think that combo should be the main wincon, so I am going to dismiss Psychosis Crawler again. I just don't think it's right for the deck that I'm building. Now, Telepathy is quite interesting. I'm not sure how I feel about a card that doesn't advance my game, but I have to say, I like where your head is. I'll start testing it soon.

Thanks!! +1?

Archmage Ascension would be a good card for this particular deck as you will be drawing lots of cards which will enable it so you can get your combo pieces out quicker and go off. Personally I find combo decks infuriating but if the idea is creative enough I don't mind them much.

Alright, I'm here to help! First thing's first, make a deck that we will be putting all of our coding into. If you haven't already, you'll also have to ask yeaGO to give you CSS permissions on the site too!

Once you make the deck I'll give you some code to put in the description that will link a stylesheet that I make to your deck

scotchtapedsleeves I asked well over a week ago, never heard anything back...

yeaGO usually doesn't respond to messages like that, not their style. They usually get a ton of them. Most likely you've been given permissions

Unfortunately I can't upvote anymore than I already have but have you considered running cards like:

These are some cards to consider for running Stasis lock. I would highly recommend Forsaken City as you can literally tap out and continue to pay for Stasis. Teferi also helps with this strategy as it untaps your permanents while Stasis lock is enabled. Snapcaster is there for redundancy spells to reuse. Overburden is great since you are playing creature light and really hates on creature heavy decks. JTMS is good for the manipulation as well as card advantage, not to mention to bounce the abundance of effects and can be another line to win the game as well.

The other assort spells can also be great as you want good cheap efficient spells or free cast spells. You can also consider Arcane Laboratory as well to stall the game longer and keep a lock on the board.

Hope that helps buddy!

hkhssweiss says... #24

Sorry ignore Arcane Laboratory I just read why you excluded it :P

March 3, 2019 6:49 p.m.

IAmTheWraith says... #25

Ok hkhssweiss, where to begin!

No need for Forsaken City , doesn't help with this version of Stasis because I don't have a turn,

Everything except Mindbreak Trap has been tried and taken out. Much of it is too slow, again no need for things like Trickbind to counter the Stasis trigger, and there's not a lot of things I would spend 2 mana on to counter, I have counterspells for scary stuff.

Mindbreak Trap could be a decent answer to counter wars, and Storm. I'll slot it in somewhere.

Thanks!
