New Toys from core 2020 —June 20, 2019

kirbysan: I've played against an Azusa deck before and basically you want to tutor and setup your board proactively when the mono green player is ramping early to mid game. Anti-creature engine like Ravenous Chupacabra / Knight-Captain of Eos / Ixidron is key in keeping mono green decks under control. Hope that helps!

EnralHmm, I see. Maybe I just had a bad game because I wasn't able to hit any of my tutors early on. Do you typically mull until you have at least one fetch?

kirbysan: I usually try to mull to get a draw/ramp/tutor in my hand. The most important thing is to be proactive in order to get value out of our engine.

Ingraved: That card is awesome and seems like a good fit for the deck. I will have to test that one out, thanks!

With the new "Oath of Kaya" being spoiled. What's your take on possibly cutting out Kaya, Ghost Assassin ? If not what would you possibly consider to change it out with?

Klancik That card is definitely something I am thinking of testing out but I think Kaya is still pretty good so I will have to find another card to replace. There's also Spark Double that I definitely will be including here that goes infinite with many things in this deck.

I was just thinking, would Rings of Brighthearth be a worthwhile addition? With Aminatou, the Fateshifter and any land or artifact that taps for 2 or more mana you get infinite etb triggers from repeatedly flickering Aminatou and copying her ability for the mana producer.

I may be overlooking, but is parallax wave to get your own things back if someone else exiled your things?

Not necessarily a flicker target, but the new God-Eternal Kefnet goes infinite with Aminatou, the Fateshifter and Temporal Manipulation

God-Eternal Kefnet would also play your flicker spells and such twice, as well as any tutors. Overloading a cyclonic Rift for 7 also doesnt sound that bad

Good call on God-Eternal Kefnet . The only only problem I see is that although it goes infinite, by itself it is not amazing in my creature heavy and spell light build. I'll have to modify my list a little and test kefnet out. Thanks Klancik.

New Urza, Lord High Artificer is crazy busted. The etb ability, activated ability, and infinite mana sink makes him an amazing must in here.

InutilisVisEst: I've pre-ordered most of the cards I needed to make the update. There will be more trimming and streamlining since both sets provide a ton of new toys. I'm trying not to dabble much into planeswalkers as I already have a superfriends deck and wanna keep this as more of a etb-creature valuetown deck. Cards I'm looking at are:
- Soulherder
- Watcher for Tomorrow
- Pondering Mage
- Winds of Abandon
- Generous Gift
- Echo of Eons
- Finale of Eternity
- Narset, Parter of Veils
- Ashiok, Dream Render
- Oath of Kaya
- Urza, Lord High Artificer
I will be updating the list as soon as I'm done brainstorming and playtesting with the new cards.

Enral,
Thanks for the reply. I have added from your list the following and have had good success among my friends
-
Bolas's Citadel (While great when in play will remove due to expense)
I am particularly interested in Soulherder . Looking forward to your analysis in the coming weeks.

Enral, how have you dealt with green-heavy ramp decks? I'm having trouble providing enough answers.
