New Urza, Lord High Artificer is crazy busted. The etb ability, activated ability, and infinite mana sink makes him an amazing must in here.

Any WAR or MH updates?

InutilisVisEst: I've pre-ordered most of the cards I needed to make the update. There will be more trimming and streamlining since both sets provide a ton of new toys. I'm trying not to dabble much into planeswalkers as I already have a superfriends deck and wanna keep this as more of a etb-creature valuetown deck. Cards I'm looking at are:

I will be updating the list as soon as I'm done brainstorming and playtesting with the new cards.

Enral,

Thanks for the reply. I have added from your list the following and have had good success among my friends

I am particularly interested in Soulherder . Looking forward to your analysis in the coming weeks.

Hello everyone, please see updates for major changes I've made to the deck with new toys from WAR, MH1, and Core 2020. Primer will soon be updated to reflect the changes soon.

Why don't you use Mnemonic Wall over Salvager of Secrets ? Seems that not requiring the extra blue would give you more flexibility in resource consumption?

June 22, 2019 4:18 p.m.

Enral says... #7

InutilisVisEst: The only reason I don't run wall is because it can't be tutored up by Recruiter of the Guard but Mnemonic Wall does have merit of being a good blocker for aggro.

InutilisVisEst Come to think of it, I figured the ability to block aggro strategies and protect Aminatou far outweighs the tutorability of Recruiter of the Guard so I'll test out Mnemonic Wall and see how it works out in my playgroup.

Enral Let me know how it goes for you, I have been using Mnemonic Wall purely due to mana flexibility but you raise a solid point that i wasn't taking into consideration which is a strong body to protect Aminatou.

What do you think about the M20 Corpse Knight? Do you think another Altar of the Brood -Effect is an upgrade for us?

June 23, 2019 9:06 a.m.

Enral says... #11

Kureon That's actually the card I'm looking for and I think may even replace altar entirely to be honest. Altar doesn't really do much other than serve as an easy win condition. Thanks for bringing this up!

Enral Thoughts on using the Flash + Arena Reactor combo to grab Jace, Wielder of Mysteries in play. And use his +1 while casting Demonic Consultation to win? It is a 3 card combo, but only costs 3 mana if u get it off

June 25, 2019 1:19 a.m.

Enral says... #13

DivineKhaos: That combo while powerful is not what I want to do in this deck (creature etb value/combo) and I already have so many redundant combo pieces in my deck. It is probably better for a more dedicated build.

I noticed that your mana curve is starting to get lower, especially with the addition of new cards from WAR and MH1. At this point, are you considering cutting lands? The deck already has a decent amount of draw filtering, but topdecking an threat/interaction compared a land is always beneficial.

Have you considered Elite Guardmage over Cloudblazer ?

June 28, 2019 7:33 p.m.

Enral says... #16

DAabean: Good observation, I will definitely be making some adjustments to my mana base.

InutilisVisEst: That extra card draw from Cloudblazer is far superior than that extra life gain.

June 30, 2019 6:15 p.m.

I was looking at the comparison more on the lower CMC than the extra life but I do see your point

July 1, 2019 8:42 a.m.

Enral says... #18

InutilisVisEst: I see. For the lower cmc, I do run Baleful Strix which serves a similar function as Elite Guardmage . Probably the only creature I could see challenging Cloudblazer 's spot is Riverwise Augur .

Hey! Great deck. What do you think about Burglar Rat? It's ETB to force each opponent to discard a card, especially when used multiple times in a turn, feels like it can hinder each opponent pretty well.

September 4, 2019 8:38 p.m.

Enral says... #20

Kami007: Hey sorry for the late reply. I like that card but it seems a little too mean for my pod but if I would consider it if I wanna move my deck towards a more staxy/controlly build.

Hey, what about Wishclaw Talisman ?

Charming prince? Seems pretty decent with felidar sovereign, can be tutored for, can blink creatures you already have and help scry or lifegain as required.

Jthomas3592 says... #23

@dommes89: I've been very impressed with Wishclaw in my build, which is similar to Enral's setup. Against oppos with shields down, being able to tutor for two combo pieces in one turn wins the game. More affordable that the other tutors, and with this commander, very effective.

I added Wishclaw Talisman in my deck. You can tutor and then bounce it back to you control and tutor again. Try this shit out.

Enral, thanks again for the time and effort you’ve put into your Primer.

I’ve noticed that the detailed links right under the deck list and the Key Combos section are pretty outdated, do you plan on updating them?
