Been a long time fan of this decklist, do keep it up! I greatly appreciate you updating and putting all this effort into the write-up!
Just a heads-up though: The Aminatou + Double + Corpse Knight combo does not seem to work as intended: https://www.reddit.com/r/mtgrules/comments/caox8m/aminatou_spark_double_and_corpse_knight/

Mordredt: Thanks for pointing that out. Looks like it's time to put Altar of the Brood bac

I mean, Corpse Knight is still a cheaper Vela. I won with Corpse Knight + Aminatou + Felidar + Panharnomicon today. 4-part combo is a lot jankier than 3-part combo but I do like to have some overlap and redundance in case I get hit with Sadistic Sacrament effects or milled/exiled.
What would you swap out for Altar?

It can actually be a 3 card combo. Corpse Knight on the field with Felidar Guardian plus Clever Impersonator (or Spark Double) bouncing one another infinitely.

This deck looks amazing! I was searching for a list since I grew tired of Varina and wanted to make Esper Control.
Only thing I feel the need to ask is: how will the consistency of the deck suffer if I drop some of the combos?

I bought the Aminatou deck when some friends got into MtG with not much thought put into it other than I wanna play something else than Naya once in a while and because I wanted a "weak" deck for the new players in my group.
Soon I noticed how interesting her minus ability can be and then I found countless decks online for Aminatou. Your primer specifically has helped me so much! I can see what it would take to bring Aminatou to a competitive level and I got a lot of inspiration from your primer. Altough obviously for a casual setting I did't put in any infinity combos and rather focused on more things that are like Angel of Despair which is fine cause our rounds tend to be slow.
It's weird for me to say (cause I was always so focused on combat and tokens) but I think this is one of my strongest decks if not actually the strongest. Thank you so so much for this primer!

Wedjat: It all depends on the power level of your playgroup. The less optimized your playgroup is the better it is to drop some of the combo.

Okay, so I just saw the spoiler for Thassa and I have to ask the question. Is this the end of Conjurer’s closet in this deck? I’m not sure we require 3 closet type effects and Thassa/Soul herder are far better than Conjurer’s closet. Thanks for the primer, it really helped me build my favorite deck.

NonoFanSs: Thassa would definitely replace conjurer's closet. This is a fantastic update to the deck since it lowers the curve down even more.

Thassa's Oracle isn't impactful enough or contribute to our win condition to be worth the inclusion imho. If for some reason I decide to test it out, I would be more inclined to include Demonic Consultation for the instant win combo but that win condition doesn't really fit the general theme of the deck.

Enral: Omen of the Dead instead of Entomber Exarch ???
Or is the option > this heavy CMC reduction?

Hi Enral,
I've followed the development of this deck since it's inception, and like how you are constantly making changes to make the deck more streamlined. Aminatou isn't necessarily a cEDH viable commander, but that doesn't mean she can't be powerful. As a value player and ETB-lover this decklist has been an inspiration and heavily guided my own Aminatou list.
That being said, I was wondering if I could pick your brain about some of the recent changes you've made. I noticed that you prefer [Conjurer's closet] over the [Venser, the Sojouner]. While the former is less mana-intensive, I find being able to blink any of my permanents more flexible versus only creatures, (also being able to make my creatures unblockable has caught my friends of-guard once or twice.
Also, what led you to take Enlightened Tutor out? I myself don't run it, but I also run Trinket mage to fetch Altar of the Brood, Sol-ring, and a variety of other utility artifacts. Thoughts?

DAabean: I'm highly considering adding trinket mage back as you mentioned. Enlightened tutor was cut since I have other better tutors and the spot has been pretty tight to cut cards recently. I've actually cut closet for the new thassa. I've never been too fond of Venser whenever I play him because he is just so fragile and doesn't stay on the field long enough for me to get value out of.

Enral What do you think of the new card Yorion, Sky Nomad
April 27, 2020 11:47 a.m.
kirbysan It's definitely gonna go in. I'm reevaluating a bunch of cards to accommodate Yorion. It's one of the more busted cards I've been waiting for for Aminatou.
April 27, 2020 12:12 p.m.
I would definitely remove Winds and put Yorion in. If you want to keep the slot as a board wipe, then replace Winds with Toxic Deluge instead. Every time I’ve used Winds, the lands gained by my opponent has always been more of a burden than anything.

Since you have animate dead what about necromancy or dance of the dead?
June 1, 2020 1:11 a.m.
freeze92: This is not a reanimator focused deck. Animate dead is more than enough to support a minor recursion engine later in the game.

You have an interesting list and after reading your reasoning for swapping out mulldrifter for Oath of Jace, I'm honestly debating on doing the same in my own aminatou list.
If you're interested in a different take on this commander here's what I'm running :D

This deck looks so cool! I really want to build this, except it's 2 grand, so I can't lol.
Maybe i'll try making a budget Aminatou deck with a similar strategy

Kami007: I'm probably going to update this primer after the next set drops. There will be a ton of new spicy toys that may make it into this deck by that time.
