This is a really great deck! I struggle to find a deck that's not only good but that I enjoy playing with and this deck covered both of those.I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but perhaps Omnath, Locus of Mana would be good in this? I don't know, but I consider it to be a good card in any deck that involves lots of mana, and this deck seems to be a good example of that, especially due to Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx

By the way, you should replace Temur Ascendancy with something Standard legal. I think that Akroma's Memorial or Fervor would be good replacements. Also, a Domri Rade would be good here because it gives your creatures haste (among other things) and it can make your fatties fight the opponents smaller creatures. Plus, it's kind of the colors of the deck. Last, I think a Doubling Season would be really good in this deck too. It would make it so all your hydras get twice the +1/+1 counters they already have, which would just drive this deck through the roof.

Omnath, Locus of Mana , Akroma's Memorial , Fervor and Doubling Season are not Standard legal. I have Temur Ascendancy in the deck because it's meant to be for after Khans of Tarkir comes out, I just forgot to mention that in the description. And after Khans of Tarkir comes out Domri Rade wont be Standard legal either. Thanks for looking though.

Well, when I posted those two comments I felt smart. And now I feel like an idiot. I honestly had no idea those weren't standard for some reason, sorry for the trouble.

SaschaCory It's fine lol :)

CaptainCaveman Yeah, somebody's been adding them in right away, it usually takes a while to get the new cards in.

Thought this deck was supposed to use Yisan, the Wanderer Bard

TheNinjaJesus My deck isn't "supposed" to run anything, it's not a net deck, I use whatever cards I feel like. And I really don't like Yisan, the Wanderer Bard so unless Khans brings in some stuff that makes him insanely good, i'm most likely not going to play him.

Not impugning your deck building skills, I've just seen most of these run Yisan. Nothing but love for a fellow ninja.

Does Keranos, God of Storms deserve consideration? He's a great late game threat that can't be answered by traditional removal.

September 4, 2014 4:58 p.m.

I like keranos as a side board card for this deck because sometimes mono green can stall games oputting in enough new stuff that the other player cant remove enough threats or that they cant azfford to attack and keranos is great for stale mates. Also I think Yisan is kind of an overrated card. More often than not he getts removed before he has a chance to do much and paying 3 mana to summon and 3 mana to find a mystic before he dies is just not gworth it. Id leave him out. Two cards that seem to be missing from this deck that stand out to me are nissa and even more importantly voyagin satyr. IUn any deck running nykthos and green its a must . For example you have 3 lands 1 is nykthos, a voyaging satyr , a mystic an a sylvan carytid.and a courser of kruphoix.easy to do by turn 4. You tap 2 land and nykthos making 5 manatap the other land mystic and carytid you now have 8 mana floating. cast genesis hydra where x=4 leaving 2 floating genesis hydra finds polukranos. so now you have mystic, carytid, polukranos, courser, and a 4/4 genesis hydra on board for devotion of 8 and 2 mana floating. Untap nykthos with voyaging satyr tap nyykthos for 8 green mana using the 2 floating now cast broodmaster and sylvan carytid, or a hornet queen if playng it, or another genesis hydra for x=6. This is turn 4 were talking aout. Late game its even better . Ill post my pre khans Rug devotion deck thats similar later today for somewhat of an example. Overall i love the deck as im playing pretty close to it now. Oh yeah Xenagos the reveler is pretty good as well with nykthos mono green themed decks.

b33tbox-n-ewok I have Kiora's Follower instead of Voyaging Satyr , he's better. I personally think Nissa is a little overrated, and besides I don't know what i'd take out for her anyways, plus she's too expensive for me to get right now. I probably will include Keranos in the sideboard, the way it is now is just random things that might stay in there. Also, my meta tends to have a lot of removal, so 4 Caryatids is a must, and anymore than 2 Kiora's Follower s will just be too many dorks.

I am putting in Savage Punch over Temur Charm in mine, just because it's easier/cheaper to cast and when combined with Savage Knuckleblade and ramp, it's just nifty

clchamber87 I prefer Temur Charm because 1. it's instant and 2. It can also counter a spell. But whatever works for you.

I am not sure what you would take out to put this in I would find some way to play at least one Mindswipe .

iamnooneme says... #19

It looks like a good deck but, I don't think it will be every competitive as most decks like Green White aggro/ramp will have a more pressure in the early game and can end a game easier in the late game

Wolfninja says... #20

iamnooneme Your deck isn't Standard legal. And that deck may be able to put more pressure out in the early game, but this deck can definitely put out more pressure mid to late game. Besides, my sideboard is mostly designed to combat Aggro decks, so even if it gets destroyed game one, it will do better game two. A little tip on commenting: don't just say "this deck loses to [insert deck name here], also check out my deck", if you feel my deck does bad against a certain archetype, first let me know why, second list some ways that I could make it better.

Great deck! +1 I would consider Sagu Mauler over a few Polukranos, World Eater , 6/6 trample hexproof with morph. also i find both Polymorphous Rush and Setessan Tactics fairly useful, can turn some of your ramp creatures into Stormbreath Dragon s or whatever big creature your opponent has. Polymorphous Rush + Setessan Tactics can turn your Sylvan Caryatid into your opponents best creature, give it +1/+1 then fight it for only 5 mana. Prophet of Kruphix is great because it lets you get out creatues much more quickly and tap out on your turn and have mana to play answers on your opponents turn. Check out my similar build Ouch. (Advice Wanted!!!)

kittycatsupremeoverlord Polukranos is a must in this deck, Sagu Mauler is good, but I don't think I can find room for him in the deck. Polymorphous Rush would be interesting in here, I might do some testing with it as a one of. I used to have Prophet of Kruphix in the deck, but usually when I drew her I would much rather have any other non-dork creature.

good combination, sadly Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker is crazy expensive right now (hoping to get him out of impulse booster packs haha). I've seen a lot of Temur decks on this site overlook the Courser of Kruphix but i think he's really handy

October 15, 2014 9:04 p.m.

Wolfninja says... #24

PhoenixWings Yeah, i'm hoping to get Sarkhan out of draft packs, that or he drops soon. I think Courser of Kruphix is absolutely necessary in these types of decks, mostly because he prevents top decking lands late game, but the life gain helps stabilize from a losing board as well. There was this one game where I was against a Sultai midrange, he managed to drop me down to 1 life, but I had a Courser of Kruphix out, and then I top decked another one, so that helped me live a couple more turns for me to finish him off.
