If there is a lot of zoo, then war and peace is better. But for an unknown meta you want the card advantage fire and ice brings. The swords are largely a meta call, but of all of them you should really be using either war and peace or fire and ice. Unless your meta consists of solely green stompy, which is rather unlikely.

this is the decklist of a b/w token deck that placed 2nd in states. I havent really played a b/w style like it where you use Liliana of the Veil . could be interesting.

Interesting deck, I probably won't include it in the primer for two reasons. I don't see why the pilot of the deck is using Lily and Bitterblossom, I need reasoning behind the cards and how they help the deck achieve victory. Second, the deck placed second at smaller tourney. It really doesn't have a presence as of yet, it would have to Top 16 a GP or PTQ to be considered in my book.

Yeah, blossom and Lily don't really have a place in b/w tokens. Largely due to the curve, which few people understand to a detailed degree. I've seen token lists that were utter crap top8, but only because they were in a really small tournament.

newb question. What is an anthem?

August 19, 2014 2:20 p.m.

uiuiho12 says... #8

anthem -> something that buffs. so like Honor of the Pure or Intangible Virtue . they give bonus stats to multiple creatures.

JRaynor says... #9

Thanks uiuiho12. So why does he say

3x-4x Raise the Alarm - A 2 for 2 instant speed anthem, probably the worst as it does not give flying like the other producers. Works well as early game beaters or chump blockers.

??? Is that just a misuse of the word or does it have another use.

It's just a misuse of the word. He probably didn't even realize it.

xzzane says... #11

By that I mean that it was just a simple mistake, just to clarify.

JRaynor says... #12

xzzane Okay, well thanks for the quick explanation. I felt like I just wasn't getting something the way it was being used. Glad it wasn't me.

you may want to add Increasing Devotion for more ways to get 1/1 tokens out

Swap the numbers you have of Intangible Virtue and Honor of the Pure so that you have 4 virtues and 1 honor. The former is FAR better in this sort of deck, believe me!

Mainly since I run Hero and Sculler, I like running a 3-2 split.

Looks pretty similar to the modern event, deck. I would be trying FRF's new Harsh Sustenance. Been wanting to test that alongside tokens since it was announced, drop off some removal for it

plusmental says... #23

Also perhaps Goldnight Commander ? I use him in my boros token deck and he works wonders with Windbrisk Heights and token generators

February 3, 2015 10:48 p.m.

xzzane says... #24

Neither Harsh Sustenance nor Goldnight Commander belong in a b/w token deck.

I fell like Monastery Mentor would be really good as a play set in this deck instead of the two Hero of Bladehold
