Went to my first FNM with this deck. I went 2-3.
First match was against G/W aggro. Voice of Resurgence tokens killed me after I failed to get any fog spells in a turn (I was close to a Maze's End win too!) game one. Game 2 I mulled to 5 and got mana screwed. Lost 0-2.
Match #2 I faced a Simic Evolve deck. They guy was just getting back into Magic and was just going for fun with a new deck so it wasn't too much of a challenge. Game #1 in this match easily took up 75% of the time in this match, as I kept fogging him and he kept getting out evolvers and a Renegade Krasis. Eventually I dropped Supreme Verdict and could focus my mana on Maze's End. Game #2 went quickly as I got Maze's End out quickly and started getting those guildgates. Won 2-0.
Match #3 was against an Izzet deck. Game #1 the kid got mana screwed and couldn't play anything, so I won. Game #2 he got mana flooded and didn't get too much out so I won again. Won 2-0.
Match #4 was against B/W humans deck, although it was also sort of B/W Aristocrats. Game #1 I dragged out and was 1 guildgate away from winning but I didn't get any fog spells in a turn (even after playing a Divination and an Urban Evolution) and succumbed to his massive board presence. Game #2 I mulled to 5 and got horribly mana screwed (only Maze's End, a forest, and a guildgate out) and got destroyed by Blood Artist and the likes. Lost 0-2.
Match #5 was against a R/U/G deck (not sure whether to classify it as midrange or aggro. I'd say more midrange though it could be aggro if he wanted). Game I fogged him out a bit and got 8 guildgates out but ended up on a dead draw and his Pyromancer and tokens from it swung in for lethal (which I think was only 9 life at that point but I don't fully remember). Game #2 was similar but I only got 5 guildgates out and he countered my final fog spell. Lost 0-2.
I had fun with this and did better than expected. I got some feedback and will definitely be changing my deck up a bit. I'll probably pick up a Tamiyo and/or some Elite Arcanists for some turbofog.
