Why Time Stop over Sundial of the Infinite?

Sapphire Leech, Alabaster Leech, and Ruby Leech are pretty much locks against decks that don't run those respective colors.

Nice! I always love a good Zedruu build. Looks like a lot of janky fun to play!
AndWelcomeToTheJam, Sundial of the Infinite can only end your turn. Time Stop can end anyone's turn.
the.beanpole, none of those really work. They only tax spells of their own color, so if the controller doesn't run that color, it doesn't affect them at all. Against people that do run those colors, it doesn't tax them enough to matter.

Ah. I should read cards more closely. I read it as taxing every spell by that much. Bummer.

Thanks for the support everyone! =) and thanks for explaining some of those details for me, Killkow. You got it all. I will say that I was originally running the leaches, but as you said they're pretty low impact and very situational.
wbw, I have a Terminus on the way! Gonna swap it for Jeskai Charm. I'll give the other 3 a go. I hadn't considered them, and they look pretty fun. Thanks again! =D

Nice to see another Zedruu deck that actually tries to win not just instill chaos. a few more cards you might consider Shared Fate after a few games it will draw some aggro but they will rarely choose to draw off your deck and if they do it makes zedruu even better. Delaying Shield possibly my favorite defense.leave me alone or if you try to deal too much damage ill just give it to you before upkeep. it also gets ignored until they actually decide to go after you since it doesnt hurt till then. Marble Titan just another pillow but if you attack with him you can give him away since he wont let himself untap. and last but not least Transcendence you cant always use it but if your losing its always funny to insta-kill a player with plenty of life when your low

silverwolf888 thank you for the suggestions! ill give em all a shot. i think Delaying Shield will easily make it in here, and Transcendence will at least be sideboard material against Oloro, Ageless Ascetic decks for a guaranteed instakill. only one im skeptical about is Marble Titan. ill give him a try, but i think there are better things to take up the slot.
thanks again! =D

Clockspinning + Jeskai Ascendancy + Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper ?
Once you have 4 lands animated you start netting mana while growing your lands as much as you want. You can keep Clockspinning and pitch other cards with the Ascendancy until you draw into whatever walker you want. Then you Ult said walker.
If you play Venser, the Sojourner you will exile everything on the table except your own things and things you gave other people.
If you play Ral Zarek, assuming you get at least 1 heads each ultimate, you get infinite extra turns.
If you play Dack Fayden you can ultimate, then keep cycling until you get Mind Games and steal everything on the table.
Using Whispers of the Muse after you've generated a ton of mana will allow you to refill your hand after you've got a bunch of 100/100+ lands and have exiled the entire board or stolen everything, or help you get there if you can Mystical Tutor it to the top after using Clockspinning to make the mana if only Clockspinning and Tutor were in your hand.
It's a really Janky combo but so much fun. One of the key parts of Noyan Dar is the "may" phrase in animating your lands.

kengiczar thank you. I've got a lot I can try out now. Lots of comboey stuff, so it might take some time, but it'll be fun to see where it goes.

I myself run a Zedruu deck, more for chaos, but there are a few things you may like from mine. Celestial Dawn can instantly shut down anyone not running white in their identity, if they don't run any colorless enchantment removal. Statecraft can severely slow down aggro/creature heavy players. Psychosis Crawler can be a fun late game win con, especially with an Archive on the field drawing you extra Zedruu cards

I also would swap Delaying Shield, since it eats away at your mana to prevent the damage, for a Solitary Confinement. Once Zedruu is online and drawing cards, you won't need the draw step, and the one card discard is well worth having shroud and prevent all damage to you.
October 14, 2015 12:57 p.m.
Solitary Confinement really is a beast card. The other day somebody was using it with Mind Unbound and just stalled for 6 or 7 turns with a few Counters. What I'm getting at is I am in support of Manbeast75's recommendation.

More maximum hand size effect Graceful Adept and Spellbook
Thought Lash, don't pay upkeep cost and then give to someone else to exile their entire library
Brand + Opalescence or Starfield of Nyx
Wild Research is amazing with Zedruu
Copy Enchantment. Copied my own Illusions of Grandeur, didn't pay upkeep and then gave both to opponent for a loss of 40 life.
Paradox Haze. Two Zedruu triggers

Instigator, thanks bro!
Mandalorian just wanted to give you an update so you didnt think i just ignored you. im testing most of these, and am already working on getting a few of these cards that i feel dumb for not considering sooner (cough cough Academy Rector). anyway, I should have a new update to the list posted in the near future

Mandalorian
Thought Lash hasn't worked that way in years. You control the thoughtlash's Cum. upkeep ability and as such its trigger for not being paid affects you. It is tied to the ability now.

I'm not sure why you think Zedruu would be a good commander for combo. Narset might be better if you just like playing Jeskai.
Propaganda and Dissipation Field would be good early-game defense. This deck seems to take some time to set itself up so some defense won't hurt.

IronPlantsUnderpants zedruu is good for combo because draw is good for combo. For 1v1, i'm currently running a hella fast Jori En, Ruin Diver deck for this same reason. in addition, most people dismiss zedruu as a jank hug deck, and will typically go after other players first. this is in stark comparison to Olloro players usually being targeted first. As for the slow setup, that is also deliberate. Dont forget that this deck is meant to be played in pod, not 1v1. So focusing on pillow-fort early on and changing gears later are exactly what we want to do. this way, we keep aggro and hate focused away from us, and win in a single turn when we're ready.
That said, I am already running Propaganda, and i'll absolutely give Dissipation Field some testing this week.

After playing Zedruu for a few months, combo as a win con does make sense. I often find myself in a situation wherein I have solid control over the board state but lack ways to finish the game. It is in situations like these that combo appears to be a logical option.
I'm not a fan of Mindslaver though. It's one of those cards that takes too much timing and preparation to play.

I was looking for a Zedruu the Greathearted deck for the past few weeks and i admit i've found the one i like most. :D
My playgroup often plays EDH Kingdoms and as i play Riku of Two Reflections, they'll always go after me - the one who is able to ramp as fast as possible. They are all durdling players, so i've decided to make a political deck which is still able to win. :-P
I hope you keep your deck up to date regularly! :)

Hipparchos not as much as i once did (have a full-time job now), but i will make updates in the future. very likely to see one in the near future as my mana-base needs an overhaul. the average cmc of the deck went up and i did nothing to compensate, and so im finding that i draw dud hands more often than id like.
that said, i will certainly be fixing that soon. i just finished getting my rhys deck up to snuff, so now it's time to focus some energy on this baby.

I've tested your Rhys deck too. It's a hell of a blast to play. :)

Cool deck!
I'd use a Terminus in place of Hallowed Burial or just as an extra mass removal. Terminus goes really well with the Mystical Tutor you are already running.
If you don't mind being a jerk, Celestial Dawn, Thought Lash and Pyromancer's Swath are pretty nasty.
