Yes, that is correct.

AngelOfDivinity im not sure how you would fit it in but if Infinite Obliteration is so good why not main board it.....I am thinking about trying to fit it in MB in my B/U ingest control deck.... i mean right now this standard meta is so easy to figure out what ppl are playing jeskai colors have Mantis Rider and jace and abzan colors have Siege Rhino esper colors will be similar to you and green ramp decks will Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger so even as a 2x it could still do work

just a thought

AngelOfDivinity i had fun playing my ingest control deck it really turned some heads and said wow that is actually really good. most of them didn't really see it as a competitive deck but once they seen it in action they were impressed and i got some insight to fix some of my problems

November 21, 2015 3:42 a.m.

Nice. I have a cold, so I didn't go to FNM last night.

In a former incarnation of this deck, back when it was Dimir, I ran Dark Petition as a "black, control Chord of Calling" because it could go grab Hero's Downfall, Bile Blight, Infinite Obliteration etc and then cast those cards with the extra mangoes. I don't MD Infinite Obliteration because I don't think it's so great against aggro, but since aggro has gone so far south since rotation, it might be a viable MD option.

You could consider Dark Petition too if you aren't already running it, grab-and-cast Ruinous Path, Foul-Tongue Invocation, etc.

So, in my meta control just keeps growing- to the point that I have even been having significant trouble fielding and maintaining Dragonlord Ojutai. I toyed around with this before, but now I'm more serious about just cutting creatures all together in favor of planeswalkers. I also dropped Ruinous Path in favor of Stasis Snare, since Utter End and Quarantine Field hit plansewalkers anyway.

You guys have all been super helpful in the past, what do y'all think of the changes?

November 22, 2015 12:26 p.m.

Never mind. It don't really think it was strong enough without something else by way of wincon, so I added Dragonlord Ojutai back in.

AngelOfDivinity I like the idea on Stasis Snare only problem with it is it doesn't permanently remove from the game its gonna be weak to ugin and any enchantment removal.

I will say it really depends on your local meta.

nice pickup on the narset though

what happened to the ruinous path's you brought in?

November 22, 2015 4:57 p.m.

God I hate when you type something out then accidentally erase it!

They became Stasis Snare, I feel now like that's a better card. Not in every match up, but I've looked at Ruinous Path, Stasis Snare, and Foul-Tongue Invocation in a bunch of different ways and I think of the three Stasis Snare is the best. They all have their assets, like, Foul-Tongue Invocation hits Gaea's Revenge where neither Stasis Snare nor Ruinous Path can, Ruinous Path hits planeswalkers where neither of the other two can (usually, the ones that become creatures are exceptons), but stasis snare I think is best because it's pseudo-instant like Foul-Tongue Invocation, targeted like Ruinous Path, and hits indestructible like Foul-Tongue Invocation. So like against ramp they may have a dork or two to sac into Foul-Tongue Invocation, but Stasis Snare goes straight for the indestructible Titan.

syncronym has an excellent point, though, that Ugin, the Spirit Dragon would give me a seriously bad day... hopefully I'll be able to counter him.

lordmalphas says... #11

ugin would be manageable, you have 4 utter ends maindeck. I would suggest +1 path, -1 stasis snare because you want 1 more end-all be all against stuff like abzan, the PW is important even in ramp (especially there), and it can occasionally be a win-con with the awaken cost

November 22, 2015 5:26 p.m.

My thinking with Ugin being a nightmare was if I had a stasis snare or 2 out with say atarka and Ulamog under them, ugin would exile the snares which would suck.

Alright, I'll do that. 2 Stasis Snare, 1 ruinous path it is!

If you've got the money for it, then yes, Gideon, Ally of Zendikar, or Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip can replace your current win-cons. Gideon dodges all but Ruinous Path, and Jace is just incredibly useful in control. The downside being that because these two cards are so powerful, they're also incredibly expensive.

Can I recommend running them? Yes, if you've got the cash to get 3-4 of each, otherwise don't worry about it.

November 22, 2015 10:20 p.m.

If I had the money I totally would. But, as an aside, Gideon, Ally of Zendikar being so powerful is part of why I chose Stasis Snare, because Stasis Snare is another thing that hits him once they activate his +1!

gideon i could see in this deck but jace i really don't see he isn't what this deck is going for in terms of the control package that is. if jace were added the entire control package would need a rework.

Gideon though if you can snag a 1 of or 2 even in a trade that would replace the dragon otherwise i think you are pretty well set in the current meta.

In this deck OJT is better than gideon, if you were to drop something it should be a narset as she does the least out of your 6 win-cons

November 23, 2015 7:28 a.m.

Thanks y'all, I'll look out to trade for one!

You need Polluted Delta and Flooded Strand in here... Should you add them, it will be easy win against any deck

November 26, 2015 9:02 a.m.

You're absolutely right, if I wanted to spend $200 on eight cards, I would totally do that.

November 26, 2015 12:53 p.m.

I made a horrible miscalculation (Well, horrible is stretching it a bit. My Calculated Dismissal didn't quite go Horribly Awry).

Ok, so last couple weeks everything I've seen has been midrange-control. So I'd figured, alright, I run 4 -Languish, 3 Horribly Awry, 2 Stasis Snare.... So long story short, I had nothing to side against aggro which, as the gods of Magic would have it, was ALL I SAW last night.

Ended up 2-2

Round 1: counters to victory: Loss: 1-2.

Round 2: Warriors: Loss: 0-2 (Super embarrassed).

Round 3: Mono red dash: Win: 2-1

Round 4: Eldrazi aggro: Win: 2-0

So, I like my MB as is, but clearly I need to work on my SB against aggro. Suggestions?

Crux of Fate x2 or End Hostilities x2

Reave Soul is a good one

Murderous Cut

Ruinous Path

Ultimate Price

Silkwrap which you already have

not sure exactly what type of aggro you need answers for is seemed you should be pretty well set for them... only thing i could see doing which would help is dropping 2 Languish for 2 End Hostilities bc languish doesn't kill rhinos or the bigger butts like dragons and it also won't wipe G/W counters during the mid game they just get too big too fast.

hope i was able to help.

Languish is not hurting my Allies as I just sac Mardu Ascendancy.

My deck: Triple A

Kenthris says... #23

HELL NO!!! what have you done to the deck? Please return it the way it was b4 mate:) u need dragonlord silumgar, silumgar the drifting death and mass removal :) As Argeaux said, many can make their creatures survive from languish

November 30, 2015 5:59 a.m.

Argy says... #24

End Hostilities and Planar Outburst would sweep all my Allies away.

November 30, 2015 10:15 a.m.

Well, replacing my planeswalkers with creatures is definitely not something I'm going to do. As for Languish, I love the card, and it's often my saving grace against aggro. Turn 5 is late against aggro, this is one of the traditional problems control has against aggro. I do not think it would be better most of the time if that were Planar Outburst, which I used to have in here.

Not sure I like this idea, but I'll try dropping 1 Scatter to the Winds and a Languish for 2 Planar Outburst.
