It's really nice to be able to play with cards you wouldn't want to buy, really opens the doors when deck building.

Oh yeah, choosing any card is good fun. I have some concept decks on Cockatrice of decks I may build in the future.
It's also really nice to test cards out before you decide to buy.

Seems really good so far, just one suggestion though. Champion of Lambholt need to go in any human deck in my opinion, so your humans dont get chump blocked

Thanks! I've been working on it for a while.
I had Champion of Lambholt in a past build of this, I cut it at the time because it'd CMC was too high. I could probably afford to put it back in now that I added Avacyn's Pilgrim and Scorned Villager Flip.
Just wondering: What would you replace for Champion of Lambholt?

ooh also i would suggest Hamlet Captain and replace those selesnya guildgate things with some scry, bounce, shock, fetch, etc lands. you could even get more Blossoming Sands or Sunpetal Grove if you dont want to spend all that money on those expensive lands. i also like how youve got some werewolves in here, but maybe id suggest taking some Mayor of Avabruck Flip dudes out, since not that many creatures will benefit from that +1/+1, and wolves dont get those human bonuses either. also Bow of Nylea is good but i think its expensive too.

I took my Hamlet Captains out in favor for the Mayor of Avabruck Flip, I know that he transforms and all but his static +1/+1 to all my human creatures is actually a big benefit. Couple him with some Honor of the Pures and Obelisk of Urds and I can get my token army up to 5/5 pretty quickly.
Usually I have so many low cost spells I'm even able to transform him back with relative ease.
I'm planning on adding three more Sunpetal Groves and four Gavony Townships. I might add a few for Blossoming Sands for their nice lifegain.

and really, with the low cost of the creatures and the sizable amount of them - 24+ LOTS of Tokens - I wouldn't worry about getting chump-blocked. The opponent, likely, but for the controller of this deck, a large army is quickly risen and not much is going to withstand that mana creatures.

I might load some Champion of Lambholts into the sideboard in case I ever face someone with a similar token swarm deck.
If we both have sizable armies that keep chump blocking each other the Champion of Lambholt might be able to turn the tide for me.
It's really situational, but one of my buddies has a saproling deck in the works so I might use them to make him angry >:D

Really I've not missed my Champion of Lambholts much, if that tells you anything.

Hey, kamarupa, you said that Doubling Season might be a good one-off in this deck?
Isn't Primal Vigor the same spell with a different name?
It's MUCH cheaper than Doubling Season.

It's second ability is a bit different but it won't affect this deck. I think that card would be awesome in here.

I'll look into getting it.
Assuming it doesn't get Naturalized immediately I'll probably be able to destroy EVERYTHING >:D
March 12, 2015 3:50 p.m.
The major difference is that Doubling Season only affects you, while Primal Vigor affects everyone. In my experience, though, the deck that plays such a card is the one that gets the most benefit from it, so I would go for it. Nice find!

Oh okay, I see. I really don't think that Primal Vigor will hurt me too bad unless I happen to be playing against another token or counter deck.
I'll keep on the lookout for one!

I just discovered Primal Vigor is illegal in Modern.
So, do you think a one-off Parallel Lives would be part or just to keep it as is?
I think Parallel Lives would be fun to run, but it's not nearly as effective as Doubling Season. I'm worried I'll just be wasting a spot.
March 12, 2015 8:38 p.m.
I think it's looking really good right now. Have you been playtesting it on the internet?
March 13, 2015 1:18 a.m.

Not yet, I'm planning on it.
I might purchase it on MTG: Online. I here there is pretty good competition there.
March 13, 2015 7:01 a.m.
maybe, i wouldnt know about that. I play online for free at untap.in. there are other sites, too. I don't think it's worth paying to play online with MTGO, but again, I have no way of really knowing how good they are there.
March 13, 2015 2:59 p.m.
a website where you can play MTG online for free. You can keep up to 3 decks there free (you can change them any time) and for a one time $5 fee, you can get 8 deck slots total and access to the faster server. I like it. It plays very well.

I can't help but think that another Angelic Overseer wouldn't hurt this deck. Maybe I'm wrong

Once you've created an account, you can create or join a game. Games can be between as little as 1 person and as many as 4. Once the set number of people join the game, you can then enter the board and select a deck you want to play with. You can shuffle, draw a hand and play cards to the board with key commands and/or clicking. There is nothing you can't do - all the aspects of the game are there. There is a chat applet on the right that lists plays in addition to allowing conversation between players. If you haven't already, I suggest going there and checking it out. You can spectate other people's games to see how it plays. It's really wonderful to stop thinking about the price of a card and just build whatever deck you want and then test it right away against real people. I also love that I can play my friends who live far away.

Ya I created an account yesterday but I guess you have to know other people that have it to play?
PierreThePlaneswalker says... #1
Oh yeah! I've not heard of Untap.in, but I play with my friends on Cockatrice.
