I really like the concept, but like many decks I see on here the first thing I notice is that the land count is too low; you're a control deck and some of your critical control elements are at 4-5 mana, and none of them are less than 3 mana; hitting your land drops is imperative or else you're going to get mobbed by faster decks.

@Simon_Williamson: No, Bureaucracy is bureaucracy the card. Sadly (and fittingly), it isn't legal for tournament play and often incites riots in casual games.
I like the deck. Ethersworn Canonist would be really funny with Jace, Unraveler of Secrets. The same goes for Starfield of Nyx with Lunar Force. The latter probably fits into the deck better, but it is only maximized in one-on-one play. You should consider both combos if you can find the space for them.

@Rusty_Shackleford: Land tax make this a moot point :P

will want more than one copy to make it work. Two at least.

Thanks for the upvote guys and the great comments.
Changos The thing I like about Jace, Architect of Thought, is that if the game stalls out, I can use his ultimate to maybe find an answer in the opponents decks. I also like that he protects himself (and me) with his -1 ability and want to see what synergy I can find between him and Dovin Baan. I may consider removing Grand Abolisher for another Land Tax though.
Primusfan42 Only thing I don't like about Starfield of Nyx is that it will make my enchants creatures, which will in turn negate Karmic Justice.

1-2x Maze of Ith would be funny in here if you could make it fit some how!!! +1

Any particular reason why no Tundra and fetches in a legacy deck?
September 26, 2016 9:30 p.m.
maddoxmtg Only reason I don't use the Tundra is because they are a little pricy. about 160 dollars each one.
September 27, 2016 7:03 p.m.
ok, well i would still run fetches and probably edit the deck to be modern legal. a few cuts here and there and it would help. Legacy, you need to be running The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale and tundras+fetches. just for thought

@Changos 1 copy of land tax isn't quite going to get it done.

@Rusty_Shackleford Youre right, I was going by my own suggestion of running 3-4 Enlightned Tutors. Btw I really stand by that suggestion, and even better, now I remember that Academy Rector is kind of absurd ;) ;) ;)

Tim Hawkins is awesome. I guess this deck is too but I don't play legacy, so ill +1 it anyway.

Opalescence in conjunction with Enchanted Evening ensures every permanent gets to live with the typing they truely are rather than what they were played as... By the patriarchy.
Does your creature want to be an Enchantment? It can! Does your artifact want to be a Creature? Sure! Does all Land want to be creatures? Sure! Dead creatures though.Do your enchanments want to be Artifacts? Too bad.
See it even has the underlying hypocrisy.

Elspeth, Sun's Champion would be a much cheaper but equally game winning threat as Kozilek :)

Also, I don't think you have enough synergies in your deck to really benefit from Venser that much. However, Council's Judgment would fit the theme and play pattern of this deck excellently :)

I might be open to removing my copies of Venser, the Sojourner. I love his ultimate but I can probably add something else instead. I'll consider trying Elspeth, Sun's Champion.
The only reason for me not to run Council's Judgment, is that I'm usually the threat on the table that people are trying to kill. They would just choose the weakest permanent between them when it's cast. Some about taxing your opponents brings out the hate in them.....

Academy Ruins + Mindslaver seems on theme with this dystopia you're making.

I don't think you've read Council's Judgment... Either that or you're thinking of running this in multiplayer in which case I am not qualified at all to be giving advice.

Council's Judgment does in fact work in singleplayer, and can hit hexproof targets since it doesn't target, so it's good nonconditional removal.
That being said, there is a multiplayer tag on the deck so idk.

I like this a lot :) I would say that the best nonland card of your deck is land tax... but then comes augustin and venser. I would totally add more copies of venser, over the blue walkers that is. I would also add 1 copie of venser (the creature) as venser has great synergy with himself XD Enlightened tutor seems like an important card for this strategy, fetching you land tax primarly, but also whatever is that you need the most. I would go ahead and run a full set or at least 3 tutors ;) GL
