Ah, my first deck. The first one I built with an actual purpose anyway. I saw an article in an old InQuest magazine that was all about getting Nether Shadow and Ashen Ghoul back from the graveyard, and I was hooked. Theirs was some bizarre three-color monstrosity (and remember, this was WAY before shocklands, fetchlands, tri-lands, or anything other than Birds of Paradise really. I took the core concept of Shadows and Ghouls and made the rest my own. The basic idea is to use your auto-recyclers to fuel various creature-sacrifice outlets without fear of running out of resources, which is always a concern in potentially drawn-out multiplayer games. Buried Alive kicks off the process, jump-starting the auto-recyclers by filling the graveyard.

It's one of the decks that I continuously tinker with as new cards are printed. Nether Traitor and Bloodghast joined the core group along with Blood Artist as a way to capitalize on all the death that is constantly happening. Over the years, the sacrifice outlets have grown and changed, beginning with the iconic Lord of the Pit and ending up with the creatures and spells you see now.
