This is very similar to a deck that I have been working on. May I suggest looking in to Gilder Bairn.

I do still need that card, but I've just been busy buying other cards for my other decks. When I do play this deck, I do pretty well, so I try not to play it that often. Thank you for the suggestion.

Invisible Stalker, Experiment One, and Scuttlemutt seem low impact. You need Beast Within and I also recommend Sage of Fables and Vigean Graftmage. Thank you for looking at my deck, I'm looking into making some edits with what you suggested.

I like the Scuttlemutt because he can turn creatures to the right color/colors in case the opponent has a Mother of Runes or something like that.

As for the other, I will see if I can get my hands on them. Thank you for the suggestions, I really appreciate it.

Also Training Grounds is an upgrade to Heartstone that only affects your creatures instead of everyone's, you may just want to run both though.

This deck...I like it. ANOTHER! (Combo, that is.)

You already have 1 Pili-Pala combo; I suggest adding in Grand Architect for another.

Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake could be possible. Palinchron has the same effect. Speaking of Palinchron, he combos with Phantasmal Image.

Mind Over Matter is just a giant ballsack in EDH, because it combos with ALL the things. Like Archivist. Oh, and you can throw Laboratory Maniac in the deck for a lot of lulz.

Aside from combos, Sylvan Caryatid seems like it'd be schweet. Paradox Haze has some nice synergy with the Mimic-mancer combo. Anyhoo, nice deck!

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I'll see if I can get any of the cards you suggested. I haven't had the means to acquire because my money situation is at a standstill. However if I manage to find them for cheap or just for trade, I'll see about adding them.

I've heard that can make hair grow on your palms. Since this is a Simic deck that's probably true.

You've seen the famous combo with Momir Vig, I assume?

Play Sleight of Mind (or any one of its million variations) to change both of his abilities to react to green creatures and combo out via Elfball ;)

Not that this deck needs that, of course. But some of the color-swapping cards (Sleight of Mind, Glamerdye, Mind Bend, Alter Reality, Crystal Spray, Spectral Shift, Trait Doctoring, Whim of Volrath, Swirl the Mists) might be worth including to get more value :)

I still would have to cast the creatures in order to combo out. Besides, I have multiple combos in for a reason. If one gets stopped, I get another, and so on and so forth. I don't think I really need them added because it snowballs just fine like it is at the moment. I guess I could give them a shot, but it just doesn't seem that worth it to me.

I think Gilder Bairn would be helpful. His effect is a little bit more expensive then Vorel of the Hull Clade but he can double the counters on any permanent you have.

This is an amazing combo deck. There are too many wincons to count, the counters buff up creatures to immense stature, and you can essentially cast anything by the time Momir gets Experiment Kraj out with a mana creature. Just a couple things:

I playtested this four times. Two of them, I was mana screwed. I don't know how it happened. The first time I had zero mana for the first four turns. The second, I was flooded with islands where I needed forests. The other two were fine. Your mana base looks sound to me, but somehow that happened.

Second: Ever think about the combo of Clone/Clever Impersonator + Momir Vig, Simic Visionary? If you cast another one of him, both abilities trigger twice. If you get both the Clone and Impersonator, you have both triggered three times. Infinite Reflection works too, although Momir doesn't do better when there's a million of him than when there's a couple and lots of friends.

Third: Is this deck meant to be competitive or casual? It seems way overpowered and too combo-based for casual, so that the play group probably won't have too much fun playing against it. If you want to make it a good casual deck, you should take out some of the more insane cards. Otherwise, you're good where you are.

Fourth: I also really dislike it when I have to leave a good card out of a Commander deck. It's counter-intuitive, since EDH decks are 100 cards and composed entirely of one-ofs in the nonland section.

Fifth: FtV: Lore coming in August 2016, and some people think that Momir Vig is the character that the cover art for the set portrays. That would be great! :)

@Sarkhan_Dragonclaw348

You should've seen this when Prophet of Kruphix was legal in EDH. Casting multiple combos on other people's turns, allowing for your turn to go for the ultimate combo. Ah, good times.

1: I usually don't like to get lands until last for my decks. So often I'm screwed because I can't get the right mana. It's bad, I know, but when you have over 30 irl EDH decks, buying all those lands can really drain your wallet. I could trade for them if I had cards to trade, but most of them are in my decks.

2: The Clone/Clever Impersonator + Momir Vig, Simic Visionary wouldn't work. A) Casting Momir himself doesn't trigger his own ability, so multiple effects of his triggered ability wouldn't work. So basically you would be casting a more expensive creature tutor. B) Momir is a legendary creature. Whenever 2 or more of the same legendary are on the battlefield at the same time, state based effects dictate that all but one of those legendary creatures has to be sacrificed when the creature hits the battlefield. However, if I use a creature like Sakashima the Impostor, the name would be different while copying Momir's ability, allowing for both creatures to be on the battlefield at the same time. Speaking of which, I need to get one.

3: As for the part about whether or not this is casual/competitive, this is not exactly competitive, but at the same time it's not that casual. The multiple combos are great, but can be stopped very quickly if people see them coming. This deck doesn't have any answers for cards like Maralen of the Mornsong, Stranglehold, and Aven Mindcensor. So all in all, it's not the best, but it's definitely not the worst.

4: Yeah, tell me about it. Most of the time it takes me hours just figuring out what I should take out for other cards. Sometimes, I just take out the lands, which compromises the structure of the deck.

5: That would be awesome. I love Momir ever since I saw him in Dissension.

There are multiple builds of Momir that can be adjusted to your play style. Some are more expensive, especially with cards like Palinchron and Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger. Others can be even more budget. All in all, you can't go wrong with Momir.

Hello again,

  1. I'm definitely not saying that your mana base is bad. I'm just noting what I saw, and even an extremely expensive base can end up flopping. I just looked at a deck with fetchlands but no basic lands, and even without seeing that kind of thing, I think it's better for the base to have at least a half-dozen of each basic land type, especially in bicolor decks, rather than hundreds of dollars in waste. The color pie on the right of the page here says things are just fine, so I'd go by that.

  2. I'm half-embarrassed that I overlooked two major rulings in that instance, but I do things like that too much, and I've learned to expect them. Oops.

  3. That makes sense, I guess. Myself not being a Magic connoisseur, there are plenty of cards--particularly the older ones--that I don't know about. In my experience, this seemed pretty powerful, but I'm not exactly surprised that there are plenty of cards that could shut down this strategy. There's one of those for each deck strategy ever conceived. I have a speficic red-black Act of Treason + Undercity Informer or Bone Splinters combo deck to shut down most mid-range or aggro creature decks.

Anyway, nice job on this, and I hope FtV: Lore gives us some sweet green-blue reprints for abusing counters like this!

Have a great day, or night, or something.

I am currently reconstructing my Momir deck around only one combo. First get Master Biomancer out. Copy him with Altered Ego. Then play Sage of Hours out and go infinite in turns.

This can be done by copying the Sage with Progenitor Mimic or offcourse Deadeye Navigator letting the Sage re-enter the battlefield.

I can go infinite around turn 5. Still busy fine tuning the deck. When that is done I'll post it on tapped out so you might take a peek when it is finished.
