Thanks. Credit goes to Tom Domine of XGeN Alters. You can look him up on Facebook. His prices are very fair and the turnaround was very fast, especially for such nice work.
Check out #SorryNotSorry for the majority of the cards he did for me in the same order.

That Gamble is mighty fine looking. I'm torn between getting more stuff altered, or foiling them out. And what do I do with the more expensive stuff, i.e. Workshop and Gaubtlet.

It's a hard call. What I plan to do is foil what can be foiled, and alter that which doesn't come in foil.
For older/rarer/more expensive cards, I don't know either.
I really like how Gamble turned out too.

It is pretty darn nice.
I'm not sure which is my fave alter in my daretti deck. I think it's a tie between Ugin, Top and Rings.

There is nothing more fun then mindslaving 1-2 people at a time, SEVERAL times in a row with Daretti even without his ult.

Perhaps, but I just have a dislike for the card. I would use it though if I were playing competitively.

How do you think Grimoire of the Dead would fare in this deck, assuming you could make the cut? Combined with cards like Mesmeric Orb I feel like this would be an awesome bomb.

Grimoire of the Dead is an interesting but might be a bit too limited and gimmicky for my tastes... I will keep it in mind though. Thank you.

Thank you for keeping up the discussion! Grimoire is more of a dream chase for me. The second ability is quite hard to resolve. I'm also interested in adding Nim Deathmantle to the 99. Have you ever tried running that card? It seems to have great synergy with Darreti's 2nd abillity.

I definitely approve of Nim Deathmantle, although I run it in my / reanimator deck The Gravest Show Unearthed!. I honestly hadn't thought of adding it here, but I could see it being useful, especially with things like Wurmcoil Engine or Myr Battlesphere.

LOVE the deck, I tried fetches in my build but they just didn't do enough to be honest, same for Squee but if they're working for you, keep it up! I love that yours is strictly on control whereas my build has a bit of aggro to help beat some face while I hold em in place, still not much I can see to upgrade with unless you wanna spend big bucks.

Yeah, and Mishra's Workshops don't grow on trees either. :-/
Sanctum of Ugin will probably find its way into here, as will Hammerheim from your list which seems to be a nice defensive card.

I actually plan to put Sanctum in myself :) I might try the Shrine of the Forsaken Gods as well since my Urza lands aren't working out, Hammerheim is great, it's saved me once or twice, no reason not to replace a Mountain with it :)

I also wanna say, I used to run Hellkite Tyrant but it got hit with Bribery too many times and while I did happen to have answers for when it happened, I still felt uncomfortable with it and ended up removing it.

I was also thinking about the Shrine of the Forsaken Gods, but I think it's a win-more. By the time I have 7 lands in play, I expect to be going off and not really need it... That said, if I do draw it early, I can ditch it to Daretti... But I still think I'd rather have a Mountain.... It feels like a trap... Never trust those Eldrazi...

Hellkite Tyrant is risky, agreed, but it's just so sweet.

Hey I like your deck, it's pretty similar to mine Modified and Built From Scratch. Not really surprising considering we've both taken a lot of cues from FeralKitten. I hadn't heard of Stranglehold till now, I like it! But I think I prefer Kuldotha Forgemaster as a tutor over Planar Portal since we don't care about sacing artifacts and it puts whatever we find directly on the battlefield, instead of our hand.

Hey Cyberninja16, thanks for the comment and upvote.
Stranglehold is such a clutch card to keep your opponents off their answers when we get aggressive.
I too love the Kuldotha Forgemaster, but I also run Ring of Three Wishes and Planar Portal because Red just doesn't have many ways to search for answers, and the more of them I do run, the more likely I am to draw one. Don't underestimate the value of being able to search up non-artifact answers.
I'll check out your deck when I get a chance :)

Howdie, I'm also a fellow Daretti enthusiast and have been wrecking my small playgroup. I have been looking at removing Mycosynth Lattice from my deck, as it seems to be the one card that gets out of hand. With synergies with Scrap Mastery, Vandalblast, Karn, Silver Golem etc, it seems to just end games rather than lead to a more fun experience. What are your thoughts? Most people seem to make their Daretti decks extremely cutthroat...
October 27, 2015 5:35 p.m.
After updating my Daretti...I would have to say to make him viable you have to make him fairly cut throat. I've resisted not going all out money wise on much needed artifacts in the past and as a result most decks beat him, especially over time and in groups. Daretti isn't much of a group player no matter how the deck is played. You either infinite or go home at some point I find with decks similar to this one, because other decks are going to lock you down harder or swarm you harder then Daretti can as the game goes on if you're not doing something shady.
I would keep Mycosynth in however regardless of your play style. Remember you're in no way forced to use such evil tactics even with the cards in your hand. No one told you to play Vandalblast next :P... Mycrosynth is a very fun card for other players, not just for you. For example my girlfriend has a sen trip deck and when I play Mycosynth she ends up profiting from it more then anyone else including me lol.
Daretti's game play is completely dependent on the artifacts you have...and more importantly how you choose to use the cards in your hand. You can make him crazy and silly or you could make him a win source for days even if you don't switch out your cards.

You both bring up interesting points. I'm personally in favour of adding the "mean" pieces because, Daretti truly is a commander that needs an explosive and combo-centric start to win. He draws a lot of hate on the table, as soon as he see's play.
I do find that a lot of people dislike Mycosynth Lattice though... It's really important though, so I can't see myself cutting it.

I totally agree about Copper Gnomes, and in fact, I did have them in here until recently, but they were cut to make room for something else... It's so hard at this point to prioritize all the awesome cards that we can choose from and know exactly which ones TO run. I may add the Gnomes again at some point. They DO have one of my all-time favourite flavour texts.
