OUTDATED

I started out getting the pre-constructed "Political Puppets" deck so I could play my favorite color combo in EDH. It started out pretty much as a pillow fort but now I've established it into something else entirely. (Cards in sideboard need to be gotten still)

The goal of this deck is to come as close to playing combo without actually playing combos, friendly playgroup, etc... So I've developed the deck to flood out mana and cast X spells for enormous amounts often to mill my opponents or draw a ton of cards. I'm avoiding running mean cards to give away, usually only if they're very beneficial. My main win conditions come down to mill, insurrection, or combo-ing omniscience plus enter the infinite together. Here's how I break down most of the major components.

Jace Beleren, Bazaar trader, Otherworld atlas, Mana flare, Forced fruition - These cards are all there to play early on, they're great to make friends but build up to my major threats. By now most of my playgroup is scared of forced fruition though.

Chaos warp, Swords to plowshares, Dentention sphere, Journey to nowhere, Akroma's vengeance, Austere command, Elspeth Sun's champion - Basic removal and wrath, keep myself alive and I can give away Journey/Detention sphere at no cost to myself.

Venser Shaper Savant, Pact-o-negation, spell crumple, cryptic command, and counterspell - Cause hey, who doesn't need counterspells? I'm not sure if theyre the most efficient I can get without dropping $75 on a force of will.

Mana flare, Doubling cube, sol ring, thran dynamo, gilded lotus, dreamstone hedron -How I cast blue sun's zenith for 80. These mana-makers are vital to my deck. Along with these however come cards like Echo mage, Mirari, and Djinn Illuminatus to copy my spells and hit for double, or triple.

Tamiyo the moon sage, Omniscience + Enter the infinite, Gisela Blade of goldnight, Avacyn Angel of hope, Otherworld atlas, Blue sun's zenith, Bonfire of the damned, Entreat the angels, Insurrection, Invoke the firemind, Reforge the soul, Wheel of fortune, Incendiary command - The threats. Although not many I usually have the ability to dig for them via card draw, library manipulation, and tutors. Tamiyo's emblem wins every game, Gisela and Avacyn are fatties that work well with the deck, Otherworld atlas and blue sun's can mill people out, especially when followed by an incendiary command or windfall. Bonfire and Invoke the firemind can deal huge X damage to kill someone, double with gisela. Insurrection wins on it's own. As for windfall, reforge the soul, and wheel of fortune. Tack a Djinn Illuminatus in there and win the game.

Angel's Grave, Elixir of Immortality, Blazing Archon, Gisela blade of goldnight, Elspeth, Sun's champion - These are some emergency fail-safes or protective measures. These cards can keep me alive from a huge swing or from milling myself out. I've flashbacked angel's grace during my upkeep far too many times.Psychic Possesion also works to prevent milling myself out.

Wild Research, Mystical tutor, Enlightened tutor, Brainstorm, Ponder, Jace the mind sculptor, Impulse, Fact or fiction, Sensei's divining top, Consecrated sphinx, Jace Beleren - How I find what I need basically. Tutors and manipulation out the whazoo.

Some of the rest of the cards are basically just efficient good stuff, such as bribery, venser's journal, vedalken orrery, omniscience, enter the infinite, consecrated sphinx, snapcaster mage, temporal mastery, entreat the angels, and a few other cards I mentioned elsewhere. The decks a ton of fun to play and I'm sure it will be my favorite commander for a long time.
