Cool concept but I would use 4 x Sherei to ensure you get one out. Also get 4 x Blood Artist. Remove the other Non-demon creatures and increase your demon numbers. Meekstone will ensure you can keep your Shadowborn alive, but will keep your demons as blockers. Cards that let you return creatures from graveyard other than Sherei are not needed. The only one you should care to bring back are the shadowborn and blood artist. One sherie, one or more Blood artist and 6 x Shadowborn will ensure you can do at minimum 6 dmg per turn. Use it on your turn 6dmg. Use it at start of opponents turn 6 more dmg. And every turn there after. Have two Blood artist and you win with two swamps.

sconnary32 Good try friend, but as mentioned, this is an EDH deck.

Athreos, God of Passage is also a really great commander for Shadowborn Apostle shenanigans. Check out my version: Let's summon some demons!.
White lets you add things like Return to the Ranks and Immortal Servitude which are important for when your commander is not on the field. Also lets you add Edgewalker to make Shadowborn Apostle s free to play and Remembrance for an extra Thrumming Stone effect.

Yep! More colors = more options. If I were going to make a multicolor shadowborn deck, I would use Karador, Ghost Chieftan for those things you mentioned as well as Bloodbond March , Deadbridge Chant and Fecundity . For now, it is more fun for me to play with Shirei as commander -- because I would just as soon make a real Karador deck as build a shadowborn deck for him

I personally would cut Necropotence- it just doesn't fit the deck. I would replace Phyrexian Altar with Ashnod's Altar- 2 is generally better than B. I would add more tutors to find Thrumming Stone and Culling the Weak and I would definitely move Exsanguinate and Mind Slash into your main.

I would also add more demons so you have something to do with your Shadowborn Apostles

But other than that, this deck is absolutely glorious.

That's so interesting! I just removed Ashnod's Altar and Exsanguinate in favor of Phyrexian Altar and Gray Merchant of Asphodel -- it really just depends on the environment! I ALWAYS need B, which is why I don't run mana artifacts and instead use the rituals, and so I cut Ashnod's in favor of Phyrexian. This was definitely the right way to go, since I always need B to do things with the apostles.
Tutors: Yeah, sure. Always need them, but for now, Liliana, Diabolic Intent, and the Rune Scarred Demon from the first round of apostles works pretty well.
Necropotence -- I originally thought the same thing -- it doesn't fit! What if I need to discard!! but I eventually realized that it's just too good, especially when it doesn't require much to get going, as opposed to Null Profusion or Dark Prophecy. Definitely worth it.
It really depends on who you are up against for whether or not to main Mind Slash -- if you know you are up against rofl-stomp aggro, then attrition (and it's instant speed). With commander being a creature focussed game, and a lot of decks relying on voltron elements, it's definitely worth the main spot -- but my most common sideboard switch is definitely from Attrition to Mind Slash.
You can also turn up the voltron, stax, or competitive speed depending on needs. I think I will add a demonic tutor to my side board just in case. Thanks for the suggestions! and seriously, play it however you want. THERE ARE SO MANY WINCONS!

You know, I think you are right, I will add Mind Slash to Main, it can never hurt to have both anti-creature and anti-hand sac outlets.

More Demons? -- NOPE. DEMONS ARE BUT A DISTRACTION!! I have only included the most useful of demons, so that the apostles are free to be the real wincon. But, I would definitely consider adding Pestilence Demon, Ob Nixilis, Unshackled, and Demon of Death's Gate

Pestilence Demon would be amazing once you've got stuff like Blood Artist or Harvester of Souls out. I would highly recommend adding it. Secret Summoning would be absolutely glorious with your apostles, and I would still suggest a big nasty thing like Exsanguinate or Spoils of Blood as a panic button if you need it.

Unfortunately, Conspiracies are banned in Commander (since they are banned in Vintage and Legacy) -- but yes, that would be a pretty easy way to win every time

I would cut Necropotence for Infernal Tribute and maybe Extractor Demon for Abhorrent Overlord. First cut because you want creatures dying as often as possibly and they're a much more viable currency than life, and the second because your Apostles give you a buttload of devotion and Overlord gives you another way to kill apostles.

Necropotence wins games, and Infernal Tribute is very slow while eating through my win cons. That's a pass. Takes a special consideration to make Infernal Tribute worth while. I don't even run it in real shirei. I wil always have life, so I am not sure why Creatures and Mana are a more viable currrency.
Extractor Demon is a win condition, and so is Abhorrent overlord, but I already have a token overrun in two places. You get to sacrifice one apostle for overlord on each upkeep. Not exactly a sac outlet. If anything, if I were to cut Mortal Combat, then I would substitute Extractor Demon for Pestilence Demon, which actually does give a way to kill the apostles quickly.
Thanks for the suggestions m8

Usually, it's "cast a Shadowborn Apostle and get 30 free" -- followed by "then, win the game"
February 15, 2015 1:36 p.m.
Is it still legal to run Shadowborn Apostle because I know it says that you can run as many as you want, but ut is a singleton format, so idk if it is legal to run 32 of them.

@Mgrabusky It is legal, card rules supersede format rules.
As for the deck, Pestilence Demon seems like a weak option for a finisher. A cooler effect similar to Pestilence Demon is Cabal Archon. Some other fun options could be Xathrid Necromancer, Lord of the Void, Balthor the Defiled, or Teferi's Puzzle Box

Pestilence Demon -- AHA! Not a finisher, but a sac outlet. It becomes, B: Wipe their tokens and generate 30 Eldrazi Spawn / Zombies / Charge counters on Lightning Coils / Gravestorm / Blasting Station Triggers at end of turn / Cards in hand (Harvester Demon).
Cabal Archon -- Certainly an option that I have tested, but ultimately something that I chose to leave out. I am very comfortable with side-boarding it.
Xathrid Necromancer -- BUT. TAPPED THO. Yeah, it's a slightly less good and slightly less flavorful Rotlung Reanimator, and ultimately just got cut in favor of more diversity. Definitely the right deck for it though.
Lord of the Void -- he's so cute! I may very well put him in again. I'll side board it so that I can have some more "fun" games, rather than "death by blasting station" games".
Balthor the Defiled -- I definitely like him, and I like him because he is a useful option that is good against one-off graveyard hate effects. I am going to put him in main again, and for now, move Coat of Arms to the side, since the tokens are usually lethal without needing to go for the Craterhoof Behemoth-lite boost / overrun.

Thanks bby.
Any suggestions? I want to make it as viable as possible. Generally, there are two routes for this: General Robustness or Balls to the Wall Combo -- I want combo options, but I feel like my Tendrils of Agony boner has distracted me from building a deck that can handle some punishment. Mostly, I want to add some things to the sideboard that make the deck playable as either a "fun deck" or a partially "competitive deck"

Give me some time. I have some other projects I have to attend to but as soon as I get some time my crew and I will take a look at your deck and break it like porcelain.

Thats a good suggestion -- and it's definitely in the real version of Shirei that I run -- but I don't know what to cut from here. Maybe another land or apostle.
