Instead of 3 Cancel, try out some other counterspells that might help you get where you want to go, like Dissipate, Dream Fracture or maybe Misdirection (and of course Force of Will if budget were to allow).

AceGambitDragonfly I was running the cancels not to counter the hedrons, but as control for my opponent. Thank you for the suggestions. Dream Fracture, Misdirection and maybe Dissipate seem like good replacements.

xtopazinferno: I put the white mana because I didn't want to have to swap out lands when I sideboard. Also I was contemplating putting one of the two side boarded cards into the deck.

Maybe instead of Cremate you can try a 1x Faerie Macabre, its transmutable and is free to use its ability
Anguished Unmaking can help with controlling the board state and another option to exile a Hedron.
How would you suggest to make this modern Legal?

Force_of_Willb: Thank you for the suggestion of Faerie Macabre. It will be a great addition. To make it modern legal, I'd replace the illegal cards with Thought Scour. As it has the chance to put a hedron in to the graveyard while still providing draw.
What do you guys think about Secret Salvage? I really like the ability. The mana cost is the only thing that makes me question putting it in.

I think Secret Salvage might be better for Standard (than older formats) where the options to Tutor and Exile graveyards are more limited. It does help assemble the missing pieces and may help you win the upkeep after the turn you play it, maybe try it out as 1-2 of.

Sorry I didn't realize that Manipulate Fate was not legal in modern. I no clue what to replace it with.

I love the idea. I didn't even know that card existed!

Thanks for making a fun way to play a hilarious win condition :)

Since this is a casual deck you could use some Dark Rituals to ramp. I would also replace the Dimir Guildgate with something that does not enter the battlefield tapped.
