This deck is my take on an Esper Aggro/Heroic Deck. This deck focuses on the interactions between cards like
Icy Blast
,
Glimpse the Sun God
, launch the fleets paired with Battlefield Thaumaturge. Now, every other deck I've seen that tries to utilize this miracle worker seems to try to focus around him and make it too combo-centric, or in conjunction with Sage of Hours making some infinite turn combo. I decided to go a different route and make the interactions with the Thaumaturge benefit everyone on the board (everyone it needs too, anyways) using Heroic and in one case, Inspired.
One Drops:
The one drops,
Tormented Hero
,
Lagonna-Band Trailblazer
, launch the fleets,
Glimpse the Sun God
,
Icy Blast
. The two creatures are to either trigger small two life swings that can help me get a bit more stable, or gain power and totally ward out aggro, and they both do this together with tapping the entire board of the opponents' with the other one drops (with the TURGE out). LtF is here because you pay one to target all of your creatures, triggering heroic, and then swinging and doubling your creature count for reasons explained later!
Two Drops:
Pain Seer: this is here because of the draw in conjunction with the relatively low mana cost of the deck, along with being a great candidate to target when the opponent goes to attack, you tap their board, and tap this guy.
The TURGE needs no explanation, but it's even better that I can give him hexproof whenever I'd like.
Battlewise Hoplite
: 2/2 for 2 that lets me setup draw (that really slim, but gut wrenching chance of Seering into a Dig Through Time) and gets bigger!
Curse of the Swine: has great Synergy with the TURGE. Pay two Perilous Vaults and make yourself have to deal with some Boars.
Valorous Stance
: FRF brought us this beaut, and it'll cost us one for two very versatile effects.
Reality Shift: More than pleasant removal for blue. A 2/2 is better than a Stormbreath, Rhino, Polukranos, Sidisi and any God if we're facing a devotion deck!
Three Drops:
Agent of the Fates
: a Heroic that has Deathtouch and makes them sac, meaning Hexproof is not a problem.
Monastery Mentor: A card I wanted to hate. But on T4 when I LtF, tap your board, get two tokens, and double my creature count, and trigger heroic all while doing damage... I had to include this need-to-deal-with card.
Harsh Sustenance
: this card is a game swinger with all the tokens I can put out.
Dauntless Onslaught
: a card I wanted to include because it can cost one mana and it makes two cards dodge most anti-aggro removal.
Athreos, God of Passage: a one of just because he's a great card in a deck with many tiny dudes! And he can also be a creature.
Higher Drops:
Brutal Hordechief: Works well in the creature concept. In my opinion it's a good thing to top off my curve just as a two of.
And then obviously Dig Through Time because it's great draw.
Than you for checking out my deck! I hope you liked it, and your constructive criticism is always wanted!
