Opponent: "You've got to be squidding me..."

The pillars of this deck are Chasm Skulker and card draw with Military Intelligence, Bident of Thassa and putting Palace Familiar in front of whatever is swinging at you. Most of the smaller creatures have some form of evasion or just cannot be blocked. A good amount of counterspells and spot removal for things you have to answer to, as well as Radiant Fountains for a little bit of life gain to put you a bit further from that edge, my friend.

Dissolve is going to be the go-to counterspell, as it's the same as Cancel but you get to slightly filter your draws. Bident combos well with AEtherspouts to clear out a scary board of creatures poised for lethal damage in a turn or two. Disperse comes in handy for cheaply removing a big creature from your face. Time is your friend. Get your Chasm Skulkers out as soon as possible, protect them with your counterspells and spot-removal, and swing in for big hits. Or, if one or more of them die with counters on them, they'll give you Squid tokens with islandwalk which you can exploit with Aquitect's Will. High aggro deck? Select for Inspection will help bounce creatures without vigilance when they swing at you. Graveyard recursion? Throw in a few Dissipates and get rid of their most problematic spells if you can't counter the spell or ability letting them dig through their graveyard. And there's always Voyage's End if you want to be extra mean with their creatures.

Maybeboard is full of other options you can consider having in the sideboard or even in the main deck to fit in the mono-blue theme. Abjure helps you counter things while also getting rid of permanents you don't need anymore or even to get the effect off yourself, such as with Palace Familiar. Augury Owl gives you another creature to attack with that lets you filter your draws, and Aqueous Form can make your Chasm Skulker's unblockable, or any other low-mana creatures you want to make sure hit.
