Yeah if you notice in the maybeboard I have both Twilight's Call and Rise of the Dark Realms ; I had originally included those cards and a couple others in the deck, but found them mostly counter-intuitive to the whole Golgari effect with getting +1/+1 for creatures in the grave. Thanks!

Nice deck. I'd definitely recommend running Stinkweed Imp and Sheoldred, Whispering One from your maybeboard. Just a heads up though, Gifts Ungiven is banned in EDH.

Thanks! I switched in Stinkweed Imp, but for now, I think I'm going to keep Sheoldred, Whispering One in the maybeboard, because every time I played him in playtesting, he removed too many creatures from my graveyard, counteracting the +1/+1 effects most of my creatures get. Thanks for the heads up about Gifts Ungiven; I have removed it.

I have played The Mimeoplasm for a long time in my playgroup and play around with some of the same themes, but yours seems a lot more all in than mine. So I figured I'd pop in and give my two cents and ask a couple questions.
I'd strongly recommend swapping Embodiment of Spring for Sakura-Tribe Elder. For most intents and purposes, this would be a strict upgrade.
Cabal Surgeon seems very costly for what it does, is very tiny, and seems to be fighting against what your deck is trying to do. 8 mana over two turns and permanently exiling two cards in your grave in order to get one back just seems...bad. A Havengul Lich seems like a good replacement, it has served me very nicely.
I'm not sure how your metagame stacks up, but some cards you are running, like Ghoultree and Nemesis of Mortals, and even stuff like Lhurgoyf and Undergrowth Scavenger tend to be large creatures that have little utility, and in my experience these types of cards don't stack up as well. Now, I do understand using large creatures to throw a large number of +1/+1 counters on The Mimeoplasm but Undergrowth Scavenger doesn't do that, for example. Nemesis of Mortals is just 5.
Deadbridge Chant has been a great card for my build, as well as Jace, Memory Adept. I've found Consuming Aberration to be a good partner for Lord of Extinction, especially if you have reanimation effects that work out of other people's graveyards. With the number of Forest cards you're running, a Brawn seems like a good idea.
I was going to ask how well Sultai Soothsayer and See the Unwritten were working for you? I had seen them and given them consideration.
Does Sultai Soothsayer seem worth the 5 mana? Do you get value out of it? I run Satyr Wayfinder in my build, is do you feel it's worth the extra mana for the body and the ability to pick any card? And no, I'm not suggesting I am thinking of trading out one for the other. I've just been unsure that a 2/5 for 5 was worthwhile, even if it grabs me a card and adds 3 to my grave.
Do you get the Ferocious bonus on See the Unwritten often? If so, how often do you actually net two good critters out of it? It seems like it could be good, but finding cuts in my build is very difficult and I wanted to collect some opinons on it.
Anyhow, good luck on your deck, it seems like you've got a good start on it.

Thanks bswhite for all of your suggestions! Over the next day or two I will probably make a lot of the changes you suggested. I have been working on this deck for a couple months but have only just recently built in in real life, so I haven't had the opportunity to test out a lot of the strategies yet outside of playtesting. I have to say that I probably will not continue using Sultai Soothsayer simply because the mana cost is slightly high and there are plenty of other cards in the deck that allow me to look through the top cards. I actually feel the same way that you do about Cabal Surgeon, especially with cards in my deck like Phyrexian Reclamation so I will almost certainly be taking out him. Unless you get See the Unwritten very early in the game, it's pretty difficult not to get the ferocious bonus from it, and being able to quickly dump eight cards into your grave is especially nice.

Tutor for a Buried Alive Cast it, move Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon and Death's Shadow. Cast commander, The Mimeoplasm, exiling those two cards giving you a 17/17 flying infect creature with haste if you pay one black and regeneration. Just some food for thought
January 22, 2015 10:29 p.m.
Thanks Ravock for your suggestions. I definitely like the combo, but ultimately decided to add in Visara the Dreadful instead of Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon; since I'm really only going to be playing casual games with my friends, I don't really want to add in poison counters that can end the game quickly. Survival of the Fittest is a bit expensive for me, but I will definitely consider it in the future.

I would suggest getting rid or Manor Skeleton for Gaea's Revenge, it is a much better body for mimeoplasm to copy that has haste and with Death's Shadow you can 21 someone in one shot. I personally like giving him unblockable as well to really ensure it, but Wonder is usually enough, basically u can Buried Alive all three of those and 21 haste flying someone out of the game if ur playing competitively, or you just want to ruin someone's game.
Also, I don't see why you have Sins of the Past, its cmc is higher than all of your other instants and sorceries... it just doesn't seem like a good investment of your mana. You have Eternal Witness as well, she is much better at re-using shit from the yard.
Deadbridge Chant from experience in my ooze rex deck, is too slow and doesn't do enough for the cmc. randomness is also rarely good in edh. I would suggest replacing it with Survival of the Fittest, this card is insanely good for the deck. If you have living death in hand you can just use this to continuously fill your yard with the creatures you want. Also its nice to trade your fattie high cmc or your Brawn/Wonder for something lower curve like Splinterfright to set up a good early game, or my personal favorite first search with survival (that you absolutely NEED in your deck) Solemn Simulacrum.
Murder just isn't good for edh, shit needs to STAY dead most of the time (your not the only person who likes to play with their graveyard), exile is a little difficult to get in your colors, but Ashes to Ashes is an underplayed card that most veteran players will agree is very good in edh for black. Besides you have Avatar of Woe and Visara the Dreadful, who are just Murder on a stick. so having a less easily repeatable card version seems unnecessary. Same goes for Go for the Throat, since you have the colors, Maelstrom Pulse is simply amazing against someone's mass tokens and for the fact that it can hit almost anything, which will save your ass some hurt in the long run.
Lastly... for now... since your deck seems very general-centric, where is your Lightning Greaves?
February 1, 2015 12:39 a.m.
Thanks a lot for your suggestions BiggestJohn! I've decided to take almost all of them, except for one I think. For now, I'm going to leave in Deadbridge Chant instead of Survival of the Fittest simply because I don't want to spend the money to get it right now, but at some point in the future I definitely will. Otherwise, I believe I have added all of the cards you suggested, as some of them seemed like definite upgrades and others seemed like they would mesh well with the existing deck.

also, i see you have Cyclonic Rift in the maybeboard... do you like winning? cuz that card is super good in ANY deck with blue, especially to clear the way for mime to do some heavy hitting. Survival of the Fittest is a little pricey, but well worth, you could try Compulsion instead cuz it is super cheap and fairly effective deck cycling.
another card you should get if you enjoy winning is Rite of Replication. this shit is bananas, whether on your own creature or an opponents, nothing says obey me like 5 Angel of Serenity's entering the field, or having 5 Consuming Aberrations out to make your opponents cry. Even just copying a decent beater can win you the game, as long as what your copying is 5 cmc or more you should be getting INSANE value out of this edh staple card. and since it just got reprinted it should be very cheap.
February 2, 2015 2:20 p.m.
Thanks again for the suggestions! I have certainly been thinking about switching out Living Death for Cyclonic Rift so I will definitely look into it. I will definitely also consider Rite of Replication, though I will probably play a few more rounds with some friends before I can decide what card I want to switch it in for.

I Bet Your Commander Doesn't Have A Dinosaur... , heres my The Mimeoplasm EDH, maybe you can find some stuff in there that would work in this deck ! Nice deck though !

Phyrexian Dreadnought, Insidious Dreams and Intuition would be nice here.
I'd also replace the ascendancy with Monastery Siege because it lets you send cards already in your hand into the graveyard.

I feel like Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth would be great in any black deck, especially a three color one that wants mana fixing. If you had it out, you could even use something like Filth for your creatures. Joiner Adept is also very good for this.
When I saw Torrent Elemental, I immediately thought how fun he could be in a Mimeo build. You can exile him with Mimeo to clone with counters from somebody, and he gives you an extra win option, by tapping all blockers. then you can get him back from exile if you need him.
February 21, 2015 10:14 p.m.
Thanks for the suggestions! Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth is actually in my deck; perhaps you just missed it? I considered using Filth for a long time, since I have all of the other incarnations, but ultimately I decided that swampwalk wasn't an especially helpful buff, and the combo with Urborg is too situational in my opinion to warrant changing out any of the cards in the deck. I will certainly consider Joiner Adept, and Torrent Elemental as well. Torrent Elemental especially seems very dangerous as it's quite easy to keep recycling him with Mimeoplasm.
February 22, 2015 1:48 a.m.
Yeah, I missed it. I even checked twice.. I guess my only excuse it that it's late and I've had a lot on my mind lately. Sorry. I hate when others give redundant suggestions. I'm glad you liked the elemental. I've been thinking about a Mimeo build as the next incarnation of my Dimir strategy. I've added your deck to a folder as a potential resource whenever that happens. !
I also like Urborg for my Wrexial, the Risen Deep as unexpected tech.
+1 from me
February 22, 2015 1:55 a.m.
Yeah I actually just switched in elemental for Phyrexian Reclamation so thanks! I've been so preoccupied with commander lately that I haven't really looked at the fate reforged cards at all, so that's a nice find. I hope that my deck can be of use to you in the future!

Borderland Ranger < Farhaven Elf. Also, Nemesis of Reason, Tasigur, the Golden Fang and Fact or Fiction are all nice options to consider.

You are absolutely correct about Farhaven Elf, thank you! As for the others, I will certainly consider them.

Traumatize is a fun way to fill a graveyard fast.
If there is something big in a graveyard, Master Biomancer can be truly frightening w/ your boss.
March 3, 2015 1:32 p.m.
see you would think that, but it's not quite that simple. There are a lot of times where the discarding to the graveyard is actually more useful than the drawing a card, and Strategic Planning does both of those. However, the one less mana is nice so I will certainly consider it. Thanks!

i would run cards like Living Death Twilight's Call or Living End to shake things up for your opponents i like to run them you get a lot of etbs off get a crap ton of creatures back and can really turn things around for ya but +1 i like it cuz why shouldnt the graveyard be a second library
