Have you ever looked upon an Insurrection and shaken your head in disappointment at the high mana cost? Have you ever glanced at Giant Growth and been disappointed at how little it impacted the board? Have you ever stared an Ancestral Recall in the eye and cried a little at how little cards it draws for its mana cost?

The Game Plan

The name of the game here is pretty simple: get tokens onto the battlefield, cast Ink-Treader Nephilim, then cast jank on Inky until you win the game. With Inky...

• Act of Treason & Co become Insurrection, which'll be more than enough to end the game most of the time

• Cards like Defiant Strike and Renegade Tactics become "draw a card for each creature on the battlefield." You can win off Lab Man this way, but more than often you'll just end up drawing into other wincons

• Silverfur Partisan become an exponential token generator, as does The Locust God with Cerulean Wisps-esque effects

• This deck generates tokens, and Giant Growths become Overwhelms

Tokens and Transfiguration

To abuse Ink-Treader Nephilim, there need to be lots of creatures on the battlefield. They don't necessarily need to be on your side of the battlefield, either. Ink-Treader Nephilim doesn't descriminate.

• As mentioned above, The Locust God and Silverfur Partisan are big, beautiful beasts with Inky. Prepare to do some algebra with these guys

• Benevolent Offering = so many tokens

• Make Mischief and Spawning Breath'll give you a metric ton of tokens with Inky. AEther Mutation'll too, but you'll have to then recast Inky

• Rise from the Tides = sooo many tokens

• Hungry Lynx and Goblin Spymaster give your opponents plenty of creatures, which is just fine for sake of Ink-Treader Nephilim

• Alliance of Arms = SOOOO MANY TOKENS

• Natural Affinity and Nature's Revolt - heh. Who needs tokens? Just... be sure to have a backup plan in case someone decides to Swords to Plowshares Inky after one of these resolves

• Young Pyromancer shits tokens for breakfast

• Dragon Fodder, Gather the Townsfolk, Raise the Alarm, Servo Exhibition - This deck runs a high number of taplands. A normal game goes tapland, tapland, tapland, basic land. You'll want to cast Ink-Treader as soon as you can benefit off it, so turn four or maybe five if you have a one-mana card that draws you cards to instantly class and profit off. But to profit the most, you'll need tokens on the battlefield before then. These spells do that.

Solid Gold

Your life gets easier whenever you draw one of these cards.

Swell of Growth - With all the cards you draw off Viridescent Wisps effects, Swell will drop you plenty of lands. I've dropped ten lands at once with this card

Shield of the Oversoul - I've only ever seen this card used in Uril, the Miststalker. It is sooooo good. Getting immunity to most boardwipes in addition to a 5/5 flying indestructible blocker for three mana is just such great value

Swiftfoot Boots - While this shouldn't be in every commander deck, it should definitely be in this one. Ink-Trender Nephilim will become a target for removal. It needs protection

Valorous Stance - "Creatures you control gain indestructible. Destroy all creatures your opponents control with toughness four or greater" Iz güd
