But now that you're in black, you have the option of using Psychic Strike . I guess Counterflux can be more useful on occasion, but Psychic Strike has less cumbersome manacost, with two colored instead of three.
Is your arsenal of counterspells enough to protect the Spellheart Chimera s? Mizzium Skin might be something to consider. Although, there might very well be something in the next two sets which willl both give hexproof until end of turn and scry, but it might be in green.

akivain, in this deck I find that Counterflux is more a lategame counter to protect a spellcast (either Ral or a winning Spellheart), and by then I almost certainly have red mana. With 11 red sources (edging towards 12 or 13, but 11 seems okay, since Anger of the Gods only needs to come out midgame generally) and all the scry effects, it is nearly impossible not to get the mana colors I need in this deck. As to protecting Spellheart Chimera , keep in mind that not only do I have counters, but also Voyage's End which not only counters their spell but also gives me a scry to dig for more value spells. The idea here is to get card advantage and slowly burn them out, before finishing them with Spellheart, and generally it has no issues with getting to 6 mana with a chimera and a counter in hand, to current testing.

Not a huge fan of Thoughtflare
- I'd rather save the mana and just have more Divination
, and Stymied Hopes
just isn't strong in countering spells. Syncopate
is better by miles.
Also try and get Thassa, God of the Sea
in there somewhere. While you won't ever get her to be a creature, the Scry 1 a turn, and the unblockable for the Chimera is very relevant.

I see you're consistency here, but let me just give a little warningIf ever you're against a rakdos or grixis deck, you may want to watch outfor a little thing called Slaughter Games That thing cannot be countered and once your opponent knows you're only running one creature, he / she will make sure to remove it.

Really refreshing to see a deck like this come up in the current meta. Good luck at the next FNM!

I'd make Doom Blade a 2 of Doom Blade, 2 of Ultimate Price. I also question where Rakdos's Return really helps you? Would Gainsay do better in those match ups?
Other cards I really like for Izzet are Steam Augury and Jace, Architect of Thought. Lightning Strike might be a little vanilla, but if you added just a bit more face-burn, you'd be in a position where Izzetgoyf can oneshot an opponent whose been weakened.
+1, fun FUUUUN deck! Love it, might make a similar one myself.

What do you think of Steam Augury ? Nets you some cards and fills your GY for the chimera
