The banjo has been retired. Comedy has ceased. No more celebrity cameos. Alas, the Muppets are no more.

After Miss Piggy’s untimely demise Kermit went on a bender and in a drunken stupor spent his millions in television royalties on an enormous plot of land. The Gitrog swamp lay downstream from a nuclear power plant and there Kermit would live in solitude. But the mutagenic effects of the toxic sludge poisoned his body and mind and drove him mad. He forgot his prior life as he grew into a hulking beast set on destruction. Now he will claim all that he can see as his mere presence rapidly pollutes his surroundings thus forcing him to seek new horizons. He is no longer recognizable as the happy-go-lucky Kermit the Frog he once was, he has become a monster...The Gitrog Monster.

Many lands can put themselves into the graveyard to trigger card draw.

Returning lands from the graveyard allows for a constant source of lands to sacrifice, and even better is being able to play lands from your graveyard.

Tutoring lands or playing extra lands is another way to ensure you have lands available to sacrifice and still have sufficient mana to spend.

Land to Graveyard

To keep card advantage Gitrog demands you get land cards into the graveyard, and he doesn't care how they get there. Some lands put themselves into the graveyard. His best friend Titania, Protector of Argoth also likes cards to go to graveyard.

Cycling: Barren Moor, Blasted Landscape, Polluted Mire, Slippery Karst, Tranquil Thicket

Fetch: Verdant Catacombs, Wooded Foothills, Windswept Heath, Polluted Delta, Evolving Wilds

Utility: Ghost Quarter, Tectonic Edge, Buried Ruin, Blighted Fen, Blighted Woodland, Wasteland

Spells and abilities can also get lands into the graveyard, along of course with Gitrog's required upkeep. This can be from the battlefield or the library.

Sylvan Safekeeper, Realms Uncharted, Satyr Wayfinder,

Lands from Graveyard

Getting lands back into play or your hand allows you to take advantage of the extra play and have sacrificial fodder to feed to your general. Lands into play also triggers landfall.

Return to play: Splendid Reclamation, Titania, Protector of Argoth

Return to hand: Life from the Loam, Grim Discovery

Land Tutor

Being able to play an additional land each turn rewards you for having plenty of land cards in hand. Besides Gitrog, Exploration and Burgeoning also provide this effect.

Tutor: Expedition Map, Traverse the Ulvenwald, Seek the Horizon, Realms Uncharted, Nissa's Pilgrimage,

Filter: Courser of Kruphix, Mulch, Oracle of Mul Daya

Power Cards

These cards have an unbelievable synergy with The Gitrog Monster.

Titania, Protector of Argoth: she pulls a land back and rewards you with creatures for doing what you're already doing.

Crucible of Worlds: sac a land, draw a card, play land for turn from graveyard, repeat next turn. You really aren't sac'ing your land, just moving it around.

Life from the Loam: dredge cards to potentially get a land into the graveyard then cast this spell to get those lands back to hand to play. Repeat unless exiled.
