However, in humanimator, she would do quite well if she was able to be ressurected. ;D

@Vos_Is_Boss So i'm thinking of tweaking Naya Humans and removing Rancor for Volcanic Strength because 90% of the decks I've played play red right now what do you think? (also puts them outside of most burn spell range)

I was kind of considering it. I havnt seen a control deck in awhile. Black removal is almost non-existant in my store right now, and Azorius Charm s have been ignored. I don't know what your store is like, but it could be a really interesting option.
Just remember, having a creature die while enchanted by Rancor doesnt mean you lose Rancor . You always get it back... but with Volcanic Strength , you will lose the card for good, making any removal a 2-for-1.
February 12, 2013 11:19 a.m.
@Vos_Is_Boss I know that that is a circumstance where Rancor is better but most people at my shop remove the creature during casting so you lose it anyways, and in that instance I'd rather have a +2/+2 than a +2/+0

No, its totally viable. Plus, the mountainwalk could be way better than the trample in almost every case. Everyone has mountains ;D

getting out of Searing Spear and Pillar of Flame range is ESSENTIAL.
February 12, 2013 11:37 a.m.
@Vos_Is_Boss that's the primary reason I'm thinking about the switch is to get out of burn range, or at least make them use 2 burn spells to kill me or waste them by throwing them at a Boros Charm
February 12, 2013 11:44 a.m.
@Vos_Is_Boss Don't know much about any other area then my own when i'm playing people in magic but all I can say is Boros Reckoner was god damn annoying. Love the card to death (only when I use him) and hate him when I fight him.
Mugging : I actually like it when you used it and then I followed and used it. Love using it against Boros Reckoner when i'm gonna deal the final blow. I may take 2 damage (or creature) but he can't block so i'm free to swing

Exactly, Mugging actually worked well. I only had it as a 2-of originally, so i didn't see it often, i would suggest using 3 if you want consistency with it. Its removal for their weak creatures, and dodge to get past their big ones.
Other option i sort of considered was card:Nightbird's Clutches. A card nobody uses, and that i bet nobody remembers... however. Up to two creatures cannot block, (usually is what is stopping you from winning) and it only costs 1R. Thats not very expensive for a swing win condition. The best part, however, is that it has flashback. That alone makes the card twice as valuable. It could be a real option against a stubborn opponent, unwilling to swing into your force.

Definitly haven't heard of card:Nightbird's Clutches so I guess I'm gonna have to start reading through the older card lists to figure out what I want to put in from those sets

Drop the Silverblade Paladin on T3 then cast card:Nightbird's Clutches T4 with a burn spell of some sort to disable the opponent's blocking force and swing for win.

Ive mostly used card:Nightbird's Clutches in decks with Stromkirk Noble , Bloodcrazed Neonate , Rakish Heir and other Mono red vamp decks. Just because hitting the opponent is a must to remain powerful.

The one hard part about this page is repeating questions. bah.
DeathByDragons, I use Purify the Grave for the surprise. It is not, in any regards, better. However, i am allowing my enemy to try a combo, only to be able to shut it down. If i use Rest in Peace , i have found that my opponent will play around it, and cast spells accordingly. And destroy it potentially. Purify the Grave is a reusable instant that disrupts their game plan.
They will try and do their combo, and i will eliminate it. In the other sense, they will wait until they have dealt with Rest in Peace (every frites deck should be prepared for it) and THEN they will do their combo and kill me. I have tested out Purify the Grave , and i have found it's surprise attack quite amusing, and satisfying. It is what i am comfortable and successful with using. A little more challenging, but it still works just fine.

You'll put me to 50! :D
And yeah, if you have any questions about anything, just ask. I do have strong reasons for everything i play in this deck.

Only that the difference is that i gain mountainwalk. Every deck ive played, for the past 2 weeks at 2 two different shops have ALL run mountains. Whether its american control, RDW, Naya, Grixis, frites... ECT.
All have mountains, shock lands that are red duals are mountains as well.
It might be a standard sideboard card against RDW, but its mainly to get to the enemy's face, and to GET PAST THAT GOD DAMN Boros Reckoner
UGH I LOVE HATE THAT BEAST BABE
February 12, 2013 5:51 p.m.
This thread scared me into buying the last two Boros Reckoner s I need at $16/ea despite the fact that I just ordered another box of GC!!
February 12, 2013 10:27 p.m.
@Apoptosis Well, if your lucky, the last 2 boxes of Gatecrash could get you another 2 Boros Reckoner so you could make your money back. Highly doubt on 2, but 1 is always an option, however, gambling on boxes is so much fun (minus all the failed rares that you might pull)
February 13, 2013 1:34 a.m.
@Vos_Is_Boss I also swapped out my Rancor for Volcanic Strength in my Naya Humans and that card is way better one of my friends is also now playing my decklist at another shop and they went 3-1 (land screw to lose) and agree that Volcanic Strength is much better because it not only gives mountainwalk but it puts you out of range of the annoying burn spells.

Absolutely. Champion of Lambholt (unfortunately) has no place here. Mainly because you want your opponent near death before she would ever even be effective.
