Maybeboard


This is a deck that looks to set up its board state slowly, then slam down its fist on the table by using doubled damage and reanimation on your creatures. Use Obosh as your commander to deal twice the damage. Then bring out the Budget-drazi to wreck everyone.

I will admit, this deck is pretty janky. It's definitely one of those decks that either puts up a great fight and wins in the end, or it's a deck that sits there and waits for you to concede. Thank goodness for mulligans. The main wincon here is damage. Deal damage. Ya get the big damage dealers on the field and take everyone down with you. I've had games where I died, but left everyone at life totals of 15-20. It's a really fun deck to play, and politics do arise when choosing your targets for damage, attacks, etc. This is also a very combat-based deck, but you don't always want to attack every turn. A lot of the time, you just leave the damage to happen, and _then you swing in for the blow.
As I'm sure you can tell, this deck is chock-full of reanimation spells. This allows us to continue hammering down our opponent while not having to worry about our own creatures. This is mainly how we get our Eldrazi in play, getting them into the graveyard and reanimating them for less mana. As for sacrificing, just sacrifice things for value. Once you do, reanimate them. Simple. Fun. This is where cards like The Cauldron of Eternity become a key part of our strategy. Unlike the instants and sorceries, this card will stay on the battlefield and keep reanimating creatures until victory is claimed.
He is, after all, our commander, so this is a good question. Typically, I play him once I have some power on the field. I usually wait until later in the game to do this, as the beginning portion is mainly setting up the board state and getting creatures onto the field and into the graveyard. If I'm in a really dire situation, I play him as quickly as I can to help out his team. Obosh is really sweet, though, when the Eldrazi come in, which brings us to...
There are three Eldrazi in this deck: Bane of Bala Ged, Artisan of Kozilek, and Pathrazer of Ulamog. Tutor these up using Mastermind's Acquisition, Final Parting, (Which will not only get the Eldrazi into the graveyard, but the reanimation spell to get it out) and, coincidentally, the second loyalty ability on LiliVess. Once you do this, use their Annihilator abilities and Obosh to beef them up more and get rid of your opponent's permanents. If that doesn't work, use Heartless Hidetsugu to get rid of half the opponents' life total, then double the damage with Obosh. If they have an even life total, well... Drakuseth, Maw of Flames is also SUPER useful here. He deals damage to all of your opponents at once, and with Obosh on the field, he easily gets rid of creature threats.
Cool Combos, because why not:

  1. Heartless Hidetsugu + Obosh, the Preypiercer (Just make sure you have an odd life total!!)

  2. Dictate of the Twin Gods + Heartless Hidetsugu (Similar to the one above.)

  3. Obosh, the Preypiercer + Sorin's Vengeance (BIG damage.)

  4. Citadel of Pain + Manabarbs (Helps close out games, and is super annoying!)

Thank you for any and all suggestions. I'm terrible at building commander decks, hopefully this one is okay. I want to build this up as much as possible before purchasing it.
