Ender666666 Thank you! I'll check out your deck as well.

RawrMcRawr Yeah, I've thought about Stasis a lot and the it boils down to a couple of things for me. This build doesn't spend much time trying to stop people from playing their decks how they'd like. That's a very specific feel i'm going for there. Plus I give my friends enough grief about stax that I couldn't play that card. The Daybreak Coronet as a backup life gain option only. Necropotence takes a heavy toll.

iAzire Thank you very much. I'm glad that you like it. The build has been very consistent through the sets released in the last few years which speaks to it's refined purpose and construction.

Jace-Beleren-Body-Pillow Those are cool to pull out, but even before a single creature for blocking I would tutor up pillow fort cards like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda.

Huppster05 With any luck I will be able to get a foil Force of Will. I don't think I can get 100% foils without saying goodbye to cards I really want, so if it's not ridiculously expensive, I'll get one.

SyrJet Misdirection is something I've been thinking about a lot. Would you replace a different counter spell for it, or would you cannibalize another slot for it?

Mr_M03 Great thoughts. The artifact lands are a marginal way to increase my chances of getting Mox Opal online early enough to get a major advantage with casting Zur. I am drawing a blank trying to think of the last time one of them was blown up. I'm sure it has happened, but it's really infrequent. And lastly there is no Hall of the Bandit Lord because it comes into play tapped and doesn't tap for . It's more important to protect Zur with a Counterspell than it is to attack with him the turn I cast him. The truth is that it's not far off the list, but I would need to cut a land that produces or which is hard for me to do. What would you cut?

I like your Bling Update. I'm working on doing the same thing. Are you planning on getting the Zur the Enchanter Judge Promo? I will be getting it as soon as they release. Demonic Tutor also has a special promo that should be within your price range after all that money you spent on Masterpieces.

Take a look at my deck if you would be so kind. I'm not nearly as Foiled as you. I'm still working on it. Have to fit my new Mana Crypt in it. Obviously you're farther along as you motivated me to build my deck.

iAzire Actually, I have the new Zur on the way. I'll be replacing an altered art Zur with extended borders.

As soon as that the art for that and the Masterpieces are updated on TappedOut, I'll have my list updated.

I'll also go take a look at your list.

I know some of the Masterpieces are on TappedOut already. The code is (MPS). Like Mana Crypt.

How did you get new Zur on the way!? I'm jealous, I can't find one anywhere. I know I'll be paying a lot for it lol.

How do you do your extended art?

A vicious deck you have if I do say so myself

Except that you dont get the cards from Necropotence until your discard phase at the end of your turn. Necro doesn't immediately put cards into your hand lol, you would need something that give you unlimited hand size.

A good Zur deck like this deserves the royal treatment youre doing. Big +1 from me. If you would like to check out my Zur’s Weird Necro Deck and leave me a thought or two, would be appreciated.

37 lands seems excessive with a curve this flat and this much ramp. You can probably replace 6 lands with top-of-the-line cantrips such as Brainstorm, Ponder and Preordain. Also, I would cut a few utility lands such as Reliquary Tower and Maze of Ith. I don't see them being relevant often enough when you offset it against your vulnerability against Blood Moon and Back to Basics.

muse99 Maze of Ith is already out in favor of another Island.

The thing about the mana curve being under 2 is almost misleading. Im not trying to curve out in this deck. Im trying to play spells and hold up counter or Vanishing mana. I really dont want to spend on filtering when its all a moot point with Necropotence. To that end, cutting Reliquary Tower is impossible because thats how I 1-hit kill people with Zur.

Where do u get the gold bordering done at?

Also wanted to suggest a card that will give you infinite uses of Glen Elendra Archmage. That would be Solemnity. The archmage will be returned without the -1/-1 counter. And you can Zur it out.

I was running a Bruna deck, very similar cards overall (minus black ofc). but that deck was sooo slow, i think i'm going to convert it over to a zur deck. this looks pretty cool

This deck looks incredible, i'd love to play it but the most i've ever spent on a deck is $50, lol.

hi gkilgore98! first of all really nice deck! I wanted to ask how you manage to use or plan using Sword of Feast and Famine asDiplomatic Immunity is a big part of zur and you can't equip the sword with it! it is just situational?

September 17, 2018 4:12 a.m.

gkilgore98 says... #18

mhegara Diplomatic Immunity isn’t my first target ever unless I am tapped out and have no other protection like Force or Pact of Negation. My preferred #1 target is Vanishing so that I can have Zur live through board wipes and edict effects. I will wait till I have 6 mana to play Zur if I have Diplomatic Immunity in my hand so that I can immediately play it.
It’s more common to have Sword of Feast and Fammine be a nonbo with Phyresis than Diplomatic Immunity. If I draw the sword after I’ve alre played Diplomatic Immunity or Greater Auramancy then I just acknowledge that I’m not on the sword plan unfortunately.

gkilgore98 now it is clear, thanks a lot for the explanation!! i decided to play, in my version of the deck, Stasis and Daybreak Coronet and I think the sword is pretty synergic with stasis, but I was concerned about the nonbo you mentioned that could make the card only situational, but I think it is worth playing it seen the strength of the card

Why not run Strionic Resonator to double Zur’s ability? It seems too good to be true to be able to get 2 key enchantment

Had to upvote for those gold borders

September 19, 2019 1:57 a.m.

Great zur deck. I’ve always associated gold border cards with being proxies, so not really a fan of the gold bordering. Plus, as new and better cards come out and you swap cards out in the deck, you have to keep gold bordering them so that they match and then you have these weird gold board cards no longer in your deck
