The land writhed at the pain, the Eldrazi creating an increasing wound as they tread upon the world. Zendikar's anger rose, boiling up through the seems of the very ground they fed on. The world would fight back, and the Eldrazi would never desecrate Zendikar.

Hello everybody, I am The Herald of Atarka and today we have another of Atarka's Brews. Today our deck is an Azorius control deck that has a sub theme of awaken.

The strategy of the deck is pretty similar to a control deck's, but instead of using just a few creatures to end the game we use in addition to them man-lands created by cards like Coastal Discovery to finish off the game.

First off is the blunt of our deck, the spells. Most of it is removal like Stasis Snare or [[Valorous Stance], both that take out any major threats while Valorous Stance can also protect out own creatures. Other cards like Clutch of Currents and Mana Tithe are used as sudo removal. Clutch of Currents sends something back to its owner's hand or makes a 3/3, while Mana Tithe counters anything our opponent think he can get through. Coastal Discovery draws us cards and gets us man-lands on our side.

After that cards like End Hostilities take care of any board states that could get out of hand, while Planar Outburst kills any creature that is not a land as well. Finally Quarantine Field helps clean up any number of threats late game.

Our creatures are few in number, but they pack a punch against their intended targets, while cards like Halimar Tidecaller support our man-land armies. World Queller is a bit versatile, being able to harass ramp, artifact, or enchantment decks. It even kills planeswalkers and tribal cards such as Bitterblossom. Ojutai Exemplars can clear a path for our other creatures, gain first strike and lifelink like a combat trick, or blink to get out of danger. Finally Sunscorch Regent can gain us valuable life when we go into a long-game situation against other decks, while getting stronger every time they cast a spell.

Finally a budget mana base with a play set of only Glacial Fortress . However, should you want to spend a bit more money, some of those Islands would love to be some Hallowed Fountains.

Thank you for reading and looking at this decklist, and any suggestions are greatly appreciated .
