A Hermit Druid Combo Deck for Those on a Budget
Under $200!!!

We all have seen The Hermit Druid Combo... and most of these combo decks range from $500 to $5,000. I wanted to utilize the combo but didnt want to spend the amount of money for such a highly competitive deck in such a casual format. For me I dont mind spending $200, I do on the other hand mind spending $500 or more on a single EDH Deck. I feel EDH decks should remain somewhat casual in the sense of personal economic standards as well as game play.. There for I took the meat and potatoes from the Hermit Druid Combo and created my very own EDH based on a lower budget... I have maintained the more expensive options in the maybe board just in case those of you with a thicker wallet than I would like to purchase them. What can I say, I love magic but im on a budget. :)

With that said you will see I had to sacrifice Snapcaster Mage and Pact of Negation as a $70 combo for defense didn't fit my budget. I did on the other hand replace it with Eternal Witness which still allows you to draw a Counterspell you will just have to make sure you have 2 untapped to cast it. I also got rid of Imperial Recruiter .


(Just in case you didn't know)

Activate Hermit Druid. This will put your entire library into your graveyard because you run no basic lands. Narcomoeba will trigger and be put onto the battlefield. Pay to unearth Fatestitcher, tap Fatestitcher to untap a land that can produce . Use this land to unearth Dregscape Zombie .

You now have at least three creatures which you can sacrifice to Dread Return Angel of Glory's Rise . Angel of Glory's Rise 's, trigger will return Azami, Lady of Scrolls, Laboratory Maniac, Sylvan Safekeeper , Eternal Witness, Mother of Runes and Hermit Druid to the battlefield.
Use Azami, Lady of Scrolls to tap Laboratory Maniac, Sylvan Safekeeper , or herself to draw a card and win the game (via Laboratory Maniac's ability).

If someone tries to deal with Laboratory Maniac in response to drawing a card, give it shroud with Sylvan Safekeeper or tap another Wizard to win the game in response. About the only cards that can stop this once Dread Return resolves are Stifle on Angel of Glory's Rise 's trigger and split second cards.
