have 4 Kessig Malcontents so you can hit your opponent several times with direct damage. keep tokens coming too so more Gather the Townsfolk

If the goal of the deck is to by agressive, id leave out Safe Passage and Rain of Blades . Pherhaps also Ring of Valkas , since it would by useless to get a creature haste twice, and a red creature gets stronger every turn, while u need to by strong at the start and finish the enemy off directly.

Is Honor of the Pure that usefull if ur not mono-white on creatures? Adaptive Automaton could replace it. Its 1 mana more but he also gets ur red creatures a +1/+1 , and u get another human 2/2 creature.

@shinobigarth- Sadly I only have one copy of Malcontents at the moment. I just gotta ask a friend of mine if he has any spare ones. I know most of the cards are gonna rotate out in a month, but I figured I give it a go with what I had.

@miel94- I'll probably sideboard Safe Passage for burn decks and the like. Rain of Blades I will more than likely take out and throw in a pump spell or something that give protection. Honor of the Pure has helped me a good amount of the time in the play tests I've done, but I will switch it with Adaptive Automaton and see how it plays out. Ring of Valkas I used as my dumbed down version of Honor of the Pure for my red for now, but will end up switching it for something else. Thank you both for the suggestions.

ok, well the Malcontents are hella cheap

so are the Lightning Mauler and i would have 4 of those too, since they hand out haste to other guys.

September 7, 2012 3:42 a.m.

yeah i know. Im going to my local game store tomorrow so I will definitely grab 3 more Malcontents and Lightning Maulers.

Maybe Burn at the Stake for a surprise finisher? Could be good, given how many creatures you can get out.

November 1, 2012 11:07 a.m.

@DrGodCarl I've thought about putting in Burn at the Stake , just need to get one. Thanks though for the suggestion.

I'm in the same boat as you, I can't wait for the next way of Boros in Gatecrash!

As suggested above Gather+Malcontents is a really run way to hurt you opponent. I would say try to find some room for Cloudshift to pump your Champion, and blink your Malcontents in and out.

A shameless plug, but I run a human boros deck as well, and it did very well at FMN before Rakdos came and ruined the party. Check it out if you want a few ideas. Bacon!

Thanks for the suggestion, and I'll be sure to check your deck out. Thanks again.

I run a pretty similar deck that does pretty well against my friends. deck:fiery-dawn-overhaul

November 5, 2012 9:11 a.m.

I'll be sure to check it out.

Check out my Boros deck: deck:rw-boros-assault! I have played it against friends primarily, haven't gotten around to FNM yet, but it has performed VERY well. You'll want to refine your creatures into more 3-ofs and 4-ofs for consistency.

The 2-tap slot for white decks is very competitive, but I suggest cutting down some and finding two-three 2 CMC creatures that you can't live without, then running 3-4 of each.

I have had the most success with Lightning Mauler . He really pushes the aggro to its limits. A turn 1 Champion of the Parish , turn 2 Lightning Mauler , and turn 3 Silverblade Paladin is 11 damage on turn three. Other great 2CMC creatures are Nearheath Pilgrim s and Elite Inquisitor s. With a slimmer 2CMC slot, I suggest Stonewright s in the first slot. Pairing them with a first striker is very nasty, as their firebreathing effect (+1/+0) is especially useful in that scenario.

@ Wolfbrand I'll be sure to check your deck out. Also thanks for the suggestions. I'll look them over and see how each one does.

How do you deal with wrath effects? Just not commit to the board or do you just scoop?

Cards that are a must in boros (before gatecrash) are as follows:

NEED: Lightning Mauler , Champion of the Parish , Thalia, Guardian of Thraben , Elite Inquisitor and/or Precinct Captain . Searing Spear .

DO NOT NEED: Anything over 5 mana, Fencing Ace - not good without a buff or enchantment. Mikaeus, the Lunarch , Thraben Doomsayer , Splatter Thug

In my selfish prop here, being my signature deck, The Kessig Township, I play Naya aggro, with human tribal efficiency. I add green only for Mayor of Avabruck  Flip , and Rancor mainly. But my list works, has been proven to work (by more than just me) at tournaments. I suggest you at least take a gander.

You should obviously play how you want, but taking a look might help you. What i suggest specifically for your deck... You NEED 4 Champion of the Parish . You NEED 4 Lightning Mauler ... and you NEED more first strike potential that is NOT Fencing Ace and Splatter Thug . More Precinct Captain , Thalia, Guardian of Thraben , and/or Elite Inquisitor and more Ash Zealot .

Elite Inquisitor is sideboard. but what Vos said

January 24, 2013 8:41 p.m.

@ Vos_Is_Boss most of the cards you suggested I've been planning on getting. I just haven't had the time to do so.

@ shinobigarth I agree about Elite Inquisitor being sideboard.

anyway just hold out a couple days and see what all you get in your Gatecrash stuff before you make changes

January 25, 2013 5:28 a.m.

@ shinobigarth I plan to lol.

How about Rally the Peasants instead of Dynacharge for the flashback, could be a winner late game. And consider the guildmage

January 29, 2013 9:18 a.m.

@ Fulmetal5 it was a tossup between Rally the Peasants and Dynacharge and ultimately I thought Dynacharge was better for what I'm wanting to do. I may rework the deck to add in Rally the Peasants as the deck is still being tested and tweeked. Sunhome Guildmage I don't like because I'm tapping 3 to boost everything by just +1/+0 and 4 to get 1 token. If both abilities were 2 cost to use I would put him in for sure.

Thanks for your suggestions though man. Appreciate it.

Sunhome Guildmage gives you a place to mana dump just in case you have nothing to do (its also why I like Rally the Peasants lol) . and the first is good late game I thought. I mean even if you just have three creatures out, if you activate that first ability twice, that's 6 extra damage going to your opponent. However, it's still iffy lol
