Introduction

The Locust God is a very powerful commander, so powerful that with the right build it can hold its ground even in Competitive EDH (CEDH) tables. Not only is this commander a part of a win-condition, but it can also fix your hand with its 4 mana activated ability.

This build is nowhere near CEDH, but is rather a "fun" high powered version.

Goal

This is a “Wheel” deck : Coined after the card Wheel of Fortune, “to wheel” in magic means to discard/shuffle your hand back to the deck and draw a certain amount of cards for net gain. There are many cards that put you at an advantageous position or put your opponents at a disadvantage while resolving this effect. Although Wheel of Fortune is not on this list due to budget reasons, cards of similar effect such as Windfall, Echo of Eons, etc are good enough to fill the gap of the true wheel.

The goal of this deck is to cast The Locust God as soon as possible (preferably with protection) and gain advantage through wheel effects. Overwhelm your opponent with a giant army of insect tokens!

Combo 1

Narset, Parter of Veils + Any Wheel Effect

Narset prevents your opponents from drawing cards. By casting a wheel with Narset on the board, you get to draw cards while your opponents don't.

Combo 2

Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter + Mana Rocks that create 3+ mana

The classic "Dramatic Scepter" combo allows you to create infinite mana, which you can use to cast your commander and create infinite insect tokens with haste.

Combo 3

Impact Tremors and/or Purphoros, God of the Forge can deal a lot of damage as your commander creates many insect tokens.
